Truly impressive, especially as I delight in all things naval, whether seagoing or on high.

Importantly, lovely to look at, and seems delightful to play. I can see my High Martians crawling the deck in dastardly ambush.

I'd be a little concerned that so much of the machinery is above deck, though. I would have assumed some protection, probably well armored. Not that you'd want to be in such an inferno of a box below decks. How someone could work in such conditions, I never understood, but jacks did, and superbly.

And then we would have missed much of your beautiful work.

Must say I was about to opine the 'other thread' should be moved to this sticky, when, in a surprising bit of forethought, I actually looked here.

As for the term 'jack', referring to the other thread, don't we assume the jack staff is named for the flag, and not vice versa? A cup may be a cup without a cup holder? Still, jack as a term could well be transferred from a simple flag to the display of a national naval design, however presented, and I believe it has already evolved in this manner. Note that the use two paragraphs above, where it refers to British sailors. Another etymological evolution...

Good thing I spell checked; I almost went with 'entomological'. The similarity of the two words has always bugged me.

Allow me to add my thanks on the sensitive choices on the none-too-recent unpleasantness, as it shall remain.

Forgive, but thought this should be added to this sticky; I think it's a lovely possibility for the skies of Mars.

Re: new Dark Eldar Raider - VSF Martian skiff? ? ? ?

Hi guys,
has anybody also noticed the new DE modles, pretty usual skull and horny GW stuff, but the Raider (sans the skulls and blades could made a very nice Martian flyer, or?

After considering the merits of the previous incarnation, and whether the new model will need widening, the discussion has rather headed off in the direction of whole use of Eldar, dark or otherwise, as Martians. This is not a totally alien  :D idea to me, but I couldn't let the aerial group miss this.

Thanks, Agis!

Doug
