Ooooh, that's a beast and a half! Nice work Bezzo. As Jimbib said, rivets will finish it off nicely (rather you than me though  ;)).
Don't!

Greetings Folks,

Even though I've posted a separate thread I thought I'd better add my first attempt at an aeronef to this thread. I'm pretty happy with this as a first attempt. It is made from 2 Revel kits (viking ship and albertross) as well as many other bits and bobs.

Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

Another aerocraft for my French GASLIGHT force.

Greetings Gentlemen, here is the next unit to join my French Gaslight force.

Please welcome "The Flying Balzacs" with their world famous Balzacs Aerial Risque. Featuring the that damsel of the aether Madame Kikia Balzac and her erstwhile chaperone and husband - Claude Balzac - Creator and pilot of the meta-clockwork ornithopter "The Red Pecker".

Here is a daguerreotype from the 1889 World Fair in Paris

Pre Flight Check and gear-winding

The beautiful Kikia Balzac. She just can'r resist an audience.

Ready for lift-off. "Au revoir mes chéris"

My airships were built around 2002-2003, and aren't up to what some people have managed.

I actually ran a convention game with them as the centrepieces for a Major-General Tremorden Reddering-inspired Landship battle.

Don't you know it's the lesser lights that allow the non-thumb digit challenged the hope of someday completing something usable?!?!   lol

Do remember seeing these before; quite serviceable!

For completeness, I thought I had better add my French nefs to this thread.

My original nef from the first page of this tread. Up-armed and with a new paint job. The Oiseau class nef Piaf:

My new nef (there is a separate thread on the VSF board showing how I built this one). The Riviere class nef Loire:

The fleet so far:

Finished up my first scratch built aeronef for my VSF campaign.  The Republic of Texas Aeronef Ship Auston.  Named for the great Texas Navy Captain Baden J Auston hero of the Battle of Cozumel during the War of the Mexican Succession.

RTAS Auston

No gun at the moment.  The minis are unpainted RAFM US Infantry.  They will serve as the first soldiers of the Texas Army.  The Auston and crew will soon see action not only on Earth but the Moon, Mars and Venus.

The Auston was contructed from carboard, a failed Xmas ornament, bottle cap, plumbing copper piece, plastic artillery limber wheels and a straw.  With a screw and wood chip for a base.  I know it's not great but I am proud of my first scratch built vessel.  :)

Its a nice size too. Room for a light breech-loading deck gun at the bow and a Gatling on either side perhaps?

Is this going to be the final base? It looks rather wobbly to me...

I know I'd be proud of that effort, Wargamer1972! Will have to admit, the stand had me aback as well, though.  ;)

Okay, needs more rivets...  lol

Piggybacking on that comment, I'd like to add a link to Froggy the Great's 'Giant Clockwork Dragonfly'.
