In continued celebration of Blodwin's recent effort, I present some 'reality'.

Found in the Patee House Museum of St Joseph, MO, USA, is apparently a patent model of a compressed air driven flying craft. As the designer/builder died shortly after the Wright Bros' flight, it carries the caption 'perhaps we would have different airplanes had he lived'.

I'm no engineer, but I'd be skeptical. Still, interesting design for the end of the Victorian period.

BTW, Patee House was an early hotel in the near West, built by a southern (Confederate) sympathizer, later headquarters of the Pony Express, and next door to the house in which Jesse James was shot dead. Now full of various artifacts including old west business mock-ups and a steam locomotive, turned out to be a pleasant diversion on a trip down to Kansas City.

Turned a little weird when some woman at a local restaurant asked to have a piccie with me; something about me looking like Si. *shrug*

His beard is fuller, but mine is MUCH longer.

Sadly all my technology is smarter than me, so it may take some time for me to post.  I do however have 2 flyers, one earth and one Martian.  Next years Enfilade will have a doozy of a battle.  Perhaps 8 to 15 flying boats...

I say, those Ironclad patrols look very good. I especially like the dive plane canards and the chin turret! Good work, man!

Prussian cruiser “Fredrik” takes its maiden flight.

Scratch built as and when time and energy allowed, taken far too long, still not quite finished but how many vessels are at the time of their maiden flight.

I just need to find some suitable Prussian crew to man the airship then she can take to the skies, I have the engineers and stokers but not the deck crews or officers – any suggestions gratefully accepted.

Also would like to add some large Prussian crosses to the side of the tanks – tried hand painting them but failed totally.

Nice work  :-*. Can I ask what models you used for the dirigibles?

As for crew, I had a whole file of links saved in my favourites but it's buggered off somewhere!  >:(

Not too long ago Malamute posted a link to a set of crew that would be worthy for you. Rather than being armed or a landing party they had decent crew poses and looked the part. Maybe he'll pop along and help me out.

I'm sure redoubt used to do crew in their ACW range but again I cant find the link for you.

Thanks for those kind words.

Can I ask what models you used for the dirigibles?

They are from the Revell 1/720 Hindenburg kit - I believe they are now discontinued but I found these on Ebay.

Thanks for the tips for the crew, I will search out the links - hope my Google foo is with me.

Great use of kits in the scratch-built Aeronef.
