Hate to say this old man, but the double-headed eagle (and red/white/red shield) is Austro-Hungarian Empire heraldry, not Prussian (or even German Empire).  Prussia is a black single headed eagle on white (the German Imperial colors are black red and white - and never yellow, which is a traditional Hapsburg color and one found on lots of Austro-Hungarian equipment.  Seems picky, they went to war in 1866 and weren't reconciled till about 1898.  Otherwise, an absolutely beautiful airship.

Crikies, that's sweet, whomever owns it!

Anyway, spotted another flier, this time a single dig, in a regular thread. It's the Prussian armored Zeppelin, König Friedrich (King Frederick) Class.

Nice find - and an outstanding use of the Lego blimp!

Well done.

That's an excellent airship. I've been trying to find that lego kit for the last year (ever since I saw it in a display at Brickvention).
Here is a new release from CNC workshop... more sci fi, but..

Nice find Freelancer - I can see how that could have SciFi uses too. I liked several of their SciFi vehicles (especially the forklifts).

I'm looking for a 28mm "Victorian" pilot for a little kitbash project. I don't really want to spend the Earth on him (this is just a one-off - something inspired by Colonel O'Truth's blog). Does anyone have any suggestions?

Do you mean as in ship's captain, or pilot of a small craft?

Don't have any suggestions per se, but the former shouldn't be too hard, and the latter would be fine with a WWI pilot.

While I didn't have examples, I'll try to find some.

Having more mis-starts than not, I thought I'd show a disposable razor made Aeronef.

Okay, took a previous attempt and slapped some pieces from a cheap Bismarck model.  :D

But I've had some good feedback, and if I can do it, a moderately talented 8 yr old can make it look good. Please forgive the bad phone image, and ignore the mess around it.

Cute little conversion (total length?), post pics when it't painted.

Cute little conversion (total length?), post pics when it't painted.

Chopped somewhat less than a third the handles length out of the middle; it's maybe 6-8cm now.

May never see paint; the hull was an experiment where I was more interested in how the lower part rather than total fit. However, it was sitting there, the robbed Bismarck was sitting there, I said I'd do it but never had.  :(

Next attempt, I'll cut-and-marry two handles: no empty space underneath next time.

Doug

PS The 'nef has stack, mast, secondaries, and small part of the superstructure. Primaries are going on some Hot Wheels for Outrider. Still cogitating hull of Otto...

Just recently got to painting some Argentine nefs.  They spent many moons on the lead pile.

Two months late, and many naval credits short...  :o

I tend to be the big cheerleader for this sticky, and to miss this so long...  :o

Repetitive redundant embarrassment repeated...  :o

My 'nef fleet quakes in fear. Well done!  ;)
