New British Civil War figures
« on: February 27, 2009, 05:03:09 PM »
These are the latest batch of figures from Mr Hick for the 3rd BCW.

They are Militia Command, Militia riflemen and a Toff and his Gentleman's Gentleman.

All rather spiffing. They should be all available at Salute at the end of March.

Very fine! Not sure how I will use them all in the forces of the proletariat, but I'll try and find a way. How about some horny handed sons (and daughters) of toil?

These are great!  I love the hints of the absurd in the roller-skating messenger and the toff and his butler.  (Toff, by the way, would look great with a Tintin head!)  I may have to get into this after all.  Maybe an LPL entry?

Am I seeing some of the same dollies used in Anglian SCW minis?

Spiffing indeed old bean. I can see these gentlemen giving Lord Rawnsley and his beastly BUF a damn good thrashing.

These figures look great as do the other figures from the range - most excellent work, nice characterisation...

but (you knew it was coming)...

None of these guys or the IRA really look like "workers" militia - ordinary civilians and country folk in their best clothes stood to and ready to defend house and hearth perhaps but hardly horny handed sons of toil. Where are the men in boilersuits and dungarees, bare headed or with flat caps or fedoras, shirt sleeves or jacket on top. Dockers, mill workers, mechanics and other "tradesmen". Those who have rushed from the factory and grabbed a rifle to defend their freedom from fascism. Dont get me wrong - these blokes are cracking figs..but i cant see them defending a barricade in Liverpool.

Keep up the great work tho - none of the above is a criticism!  ;)
