I would assume a marine or three aboard, but troop carrier is asking a bit much.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves right now  ;)

Very cool build so far.  Looks like a great German addition!

Any plans for crew?

Hey Pijlie,

Your ability to go from plans to constructed model so quickly are enviable.

Looking forward to you completing this and seeing it manned and armed...

Cheers!

Part of the crew has been in my collection for years. They are Pulp Figures' Seebattalion and its nefarious Prussian commander Ludwing Von Twitterling-Hupsenbach. The captain, deck crew and some more sailors have been ordered from Copplestone and are on their way.

I might convert some plastic Mutant Chronicles "Germans" into Space Kommandos :)

I LOVE those!

I have a few of the Imperial Trenchers someone else painted, but I gave the spike-heads to a friend, who's yet to field them.  :(

I would have expected Raumkommandos to be normally on duty on a aether-flyer, though one supposes they could be an detached assignment.  ;)

DO keep it up, ol' bean!

Added the deck (prints), magnetised the weaponry, added magnetic mounts for the engines and tried a new clour for the zeppelin gasbags.

Now for more detailing, railings and such!

Looking good!

Ah print and glue deck detail..DOH I've been etching lines in, drilling holes for fasteners and highlighting with a wash...mind you the deck on my models are miniature compared with this...

Re gasbags personally I'd go with a contrasting colour make them stand out...but that's just me.

Well, etched decks look better, but require a lot more work. Prints can be enlarged or shrunk at will of course.

The gasbags will end up in the current colour, but the rest of the hull will become blue-grey for, as you rightly point out, contrast.

While I admire your dogged determination, printed decks got me way further with my own foamcore Aphids than I thought possible. I really do NEVER finish anything. I've been thinking of putting up a thread of building d'failures...

I rather like the contrast I'm seeing in the current image. Grey vs. greenish grey. Subtle but good for me. However, it'll be 'builder's call,' of course.
