Looking for 28mm 19th century German sailor types/zeppelin crew
« on: February 26, 2017, 09:25:21 AM »
I am looking for VSF German sailors to man a German skyship. Bob Murch' zeppelin truppen are great but simply look too modern. His American sailors might do in a pinch if I fill up the top of the hat. I have got a bunch of those but prefer not to convert them.

Does anyone have a recommendation for late 19th century 28mm German sailors? Preferably European so as not to break the bank in shipping costs?

Pulp has British sailors too.

Ooh! Those look very good! They wore practically the same uniform.

I have in the meantime located the British sailors by Perry, Ironclad and Copplestone. Especially the latter are well priced and lovely figures as well!

Traveller is spot on. :)

Brigade Games WW1 East Africa German sailors are perfect.

The British naval rig is similar to the German one but the cap is distinctly different. If you want them more recognisable as Germans go for the Brigade ones.

The Pulp figures in my opinion look too modern.

Thank you all for the tips. In the end I decided for the Copplestone ones. I liked them best, even if I have to tweak the caps a bit.
