Cthulhu Alley - a Pulp Alley mini campaign
« on: February 26, 2017, 01:30:38 PM »
We've just wrapped up a mini Pulp Alley Cthulhu campaign at our club.

Game 1
An ancient evil is rising and we need to stop it. A set of seals are crucial to that task. We're all here in the village of Ash-Shatt to find the seals.

The game featured a herald who acted like a pied piper. Here almost my entire league is being enticed in its direction!

Then there were cultists. (There are always cultists!)

Every seal we unlocked saw a new horrorarrive on the table.

You can read the full report here: http://preacherbyday.blogspot.com/2016/10/sun-sand-and-savage-creatures-from.html

Game 2
From the sand to the swamp. The Leagues are searching for a mystical door to take them to the portal where another dimension threatens to irrupt into ours.

Foul creatures lurk in wait.

We didn't get the chance to fight each other: there were two many perils coming our way!

The seal that opens the mystical door. Guarded by quicksand and a hypnotic plant.

You can read how it unfolded here: http://preacherbyday.blogspot.com/2016/12/swamp-things-pulp-alley-game.html

Game 3
At last, a portal has led the Leagues to a lonely island in the South Pacific. The island is none other than R'Lyeh, the domain of Cthulhu himself.

The leagues must collect four seals, and position them at the compass points surrounding the portal (the glowing, pulsing light at the top of the island).

Rather disconcertingly, the portal changed colour and began pulsing more rapidly as the game went on!

Just as we thought the game was going well for us,the robot spotted something in the water.

Arghhhh!!!!

Did we survive Cthulhu himself? What about when the island started to sink?

Inspiring stuff, gorgeous models and scenery and I especially loved the third game with the island sinking into the sea, it looked like a joy to play! I actually caught this on the Facebook page earlier, hopefully later in the year I'll be living close enough to head along to some Brisbane gaming days and see some of these gorgeous models in the flesh  :)

Thanks! Most of the terrain and the baddies were done by one of the other guys at the club. The last scenario was definitely the best. Let us know when you hit Brisbane: you'd be most welcome to join in!

Spectacular looking table. The figures, terrain and AAR are top notch. Looks like it was a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic!!  I'm so tempted to dive into the Pulp Alley Rules, they look like fun regardless of genre.

If it's a heroic skirmish game you're after with half a dozen figures a side, Pulp Alley should work well. We've played 30s pulp, Cthulhu, WWII, sci fi, superheroes, samurai and Wars of the Roses.

Whatever did you make the the blue tentacle flora from in the second game?
One of the other guys did this terrain, but it was some kind of aquarium plant. In game you risked being grabbed if you moved to close to these plants.

That is cool - would fit right into my Mars flora.  I love what you guys are doing - I simply feel that Pulp Alley is the most flexible skirmish level minis game out there.
