Daisho goes digital (Commercial)
« on: March 03, 2017, 12:07:23 PM »
Bushi hai!

The Ministry of Gentlemanly Warfare is pleased to announce that a digital PDF version of these popular rules is now available from our friends at S'n'M Stuff http://www.snmstuff.co.uk/product/daisho-e-book/

The full rule book is on sale for the princely sum of £7.50 (which is quite a bit cheaper than the £30 tome about to be released by another publisher).

The Ministry's other rule book, Blood Eagle - skirmish warfare in the legendary Dark Ages, is also now available in digital format for the same low price http://www.snmstuff.co.uk/product/blood-eagle-e-book/.

I do agree with rumacara if you cannot print them then I have no intrest. Also if I had know they where going to come out in pdf I would not have purchased the paper ones (with a printing option of course).

I much prefer to buy a pdf copy and see if I like the rules before buying the paper version, some times i dont even go for the paper just use the tablet at the table.

Hope you have read the VAT rules on digital sales. If you sell one copy to ANY EU country you have to register, that is why we do not sell Victorian Steel rules as a PDF
Good luck !

Which is something that I don't see how it can be enforced. Seems like the kind of thing that a US or other non-european country based company could just ignore due to various laws that deal with things of that nature where courts tend to ignore attempts to force them rather than enforce them...

This is why Crooked Dice use Gumroad and others use Wargames Vault.

UK law, what I was pointing out was that US sellers and similar can ignore it unless it's by other treaties...

Gentlemen,

This being our first foray into digital we took advice from many sources. These included the editors of popular magazines, other small scale publishers etc. The overwhelming opinion was that for reasons of copyright and security we should lock out the printing option.

We apologise if this has upset you, it was not our intent. We shall take your comments into account for when we make the decision about our next digital release.

Fortunately our digital distributor, S'n'M Stuff, has software that deals with this. Thanks for pointing it out though :)

The Men from the Ministry have an Announcement to make about our digital books.

In response to feedback received, we've decided to enable printing from the PDFs.
