Trying to point out a Dust Tactics Luther - thoughts ?
« on: March 10, 2017, 05:46:15 PM »
So I'm doing stats for my Secrets of the Third Reich armies and I need to point out a Luther from Dust Tactics that I'm using.

I thought of taking a Puma and adapting it to some kind of Gear Krieg Walker,

Luther (heavy support team 150pts)
Loosely based on the Gear Krieg Valkure, mine has:
5cm AT gun  ( 48", D10+2 ,  blast/1"  taken from the Puma)
Pintle HMG  ( 36", 3xD6,  suppression)
Front  ( crit 9+ , hit 8+, save 5+)
Side    ( crit 8+, hit7+, save 5+)
Rear   ( crit 8+, hit 7+,5+)
Move Walker 4"    Size: 4
Special: Radio, Recon, Walker

not sure about the point values, and if it should be size 4 or 3 ? Maybe Agis can take a stab?

I've also done the conversion for the SoTR book Mech Grenadiers. I had to adjust some weapons. For example since in that setting all troops have semi auto rifles I assumed that this no longer has the "suppression" effect ( they are used to it ) and that allows me to have more tactical options with the weapons in play.

Then I had to steal the stats for the packed LMGs from the BAR or the FG42

They have armor, so we have to increase the save to 5+

Hope to post a battle report over the next weeks.

Francisco

I would strongly recommend the FuCo Mid Tech Light Combat Walker (P.92) as abase for the Luther, then pick whatever weapon suits you most.

Same for the SotR Infantry, Low Tech Infantry Platoon Combat Element to start with.
Or the Mid Tech Ballistic Armour Rifle Squad (even picture some DUST minis there).  ;)
cheers and keep on gaming, Agis - http://www.adpublishing.de

Infantry I'm covered... I used the mid tech to extrapolate armor, and use the weapons as I explain on the post.

Regarding the walker, I was looking for a medium walker due to there being lighter and havier walkers to represent, but there appears to be no mid tech med walker... That is why I ended up with that mix..

So if I design a scifi walker, are points compatible with WWII vehicles ?

Quote from P8. FuCo :
"The unit stats in this book are consistent and fully compatible with the existing vehicles in the Victory Decision rulebook and all supplements including Gear Krieg. If you want to put your WW II army against the invading high tech equipped aliens of your friend – now is the time to play these games!"

So yes, all points are compatible.  :)

Fantastic... endless possibilities... WWII vs the Invading Martian Hordes from All Quiet on the Martian Front :)

We need a light anti tank gun such as the Puma's :)

48" 1D10 + 2, blast/1" ...  what say you ? 35 pts ?

Hmm, that are the stats of the German 5cm L60 (Pak 38) Gun, Soviet 76.2mm F32 Gun or the Japanese 75mm Type 90 - 50 pts.
