Frostgrave Demons
« on: March 14, 2017, 08:40:33 PM »
Its been a bit quiet at the ELMS Club in Leeds (https://www.facebook.com/ELMSWargames/) for frostgrave since Christmas, with only a couple of games being played since we finished our Lich Lord campaign. So I thought I'd paint up a couple of new bits in preperation to play some of the mini-campaigns from Forgotten Pacts when the mood strikes us again (hopefully not long!)

These chaps are from Mantic games, I picked up a sprue from eBay after seeing them in use at the Wargames Illustrated Frostgrave gaming day. I've not spent a great deal of time on them, they are mostly just washed and drybrushed, but I'm really pleased with how they've come out.

Cool. They've turned out well. Are they hard plastic or that terrible soft stuff Mantic make?

Thats the plan

Hard plastic on a sprue - like Games Workshop or North Star use. I'd really recommend them, especially as you can get single sprues cheaply from eBay.

Duly noted.  The website photos for those do not do them justice at all - which is a common problem for Mantic stuff in general.  Thanks for the better imagery.

Very nice paint job!  I'd certainly be proud to have those on my table.

I've found that the Mantic sprues are very good.  The stuff that's not on sprue is a little less so, as it's usually made of that "Restic" (resin/plastic) they use.  Those generally have softer details and are harder to clean up, which is certainly frustrating.
