.45 idea needs help
« on: March 06, 2009, 10:55:16 AM »
hi im working on a .45 game based in the present/near future
it consists of a conflict between men and robots
the men are copplestone neo-sovs working in the artic at a research station
i have stats for the men and there weapons, what im having problems with is the
robots (copplestone terminators) i going to give them the ray gun weapon from fw
its short range should give the men time to pick them off, what i want to do is either make the robots have a high dr to sustain some of the flack there going to get, but not sure if this would make them to difficult to kill? or give them a force shield based around the broadsword method of using shields, what do you lafers think, has any of you used the shields in b/sword and if so how effective are they, what would you consider a workable
dr bearing in mind the men have available to them sub machine guns and assault rifles.
i want hopefully to build tension the nearer the robots get to the station and within range of there ray guns.
cheers ace67
dont fire till ya can see the whites of there eyes

Great ideas there.

If you want about a 50-50 chance to kill, up the DR on them to 9. If hit with WS 5, they will need a 6 or better to avoid the wound.

The idea of a force field is an interesting one. Roll 2 d10 and pick the higher when defending. It's more random in the save so your robots could either save a lot or very little.

Each one will provide a different feel so I'm not sure which is better.
