Thanks, Dr De'Ath, it looks a lot better! How's Sandport faring?

Sandport has been on a bit of a back burner due to overseas work commitments and other projects but I'll be picking it up again soon now I'm back in the UK
Photos of my recent efforts are at www.littleleadmen.com and https://beaverlickfalls.blogspot.com

The Sandport thread is an immense treasure to me, lots of inspiration to be had. And I always feel a bit regretful over choosing forest/badlands colour scheme for my board, instead of desert...

I usually glue bits I'm going to add to my terrain on plasticard, to have something to hold on to while painting.

Today I learned that this isn't always optimal - at least not when you are glueing plasticard to plasticard...

Usually I use this method on white metal bits, which is no problem. When you want to remove the plastic bit, you just break it off. This didn't work with plasticard...

Well, instead of having a plate glass window, I decided to center the door - and I actually think it looks better! Just got to add a sign ("BAR") and a list of drinks and it will be good enough...

Looking great sir - the lights are a lovely touch, really make a difference. Where's the lady in orange pants from? My 15mm encyclopedia is failing me...

Nice build

Thanks, Dr De'Ath! It was just a quickie box building, but I like the way it turned out.

Thanks, Jagannath! Both models are from Khurasan Miniatures, the orange-clad one is from my favorite set DPLS crew.

Thanks Z, it's soldering wire with sliced plasticard rod as lights.

Introducing my daughter to the hobby. She sits all wrapped up on me, only seven weeks old. On the green cutting board you can see the beginning of my next building, a small factory.

I've had some time to myself last week, so there's some terrain in the pipeline, but no pictures yet.

I've been experimenting with doing batch work, in this case I've built several structures and undercoated them en masse. Now, I am painting them, one by one, and although I have finished painting some of them, I haven't based them yet. You will have to wait a little while longer, but soon I will have a lot to show you!

A picture from the basing process:
One undercoated base and one built base. I find it easier to paint first and glue together later.

Cantinas, inns, taverns, saloons, bars. They are known by different names and what they serve may vary, but all across the galaxy, on every settled world, you will find them. Establishments serving refreshing and/or recreational substances tend to pop up whereever you find some kind of civilization.

Whether they are serving hot stim drinks brewed from roasted beans, alcoholic beverages made from fermented plants, synthetic Grox milk or relaxing fungi brews, the establishments attract a wide selection of customers. This in itself draws even more customers - there is no better place for adventurers, hired guns and other denziens to find information, work or new companions.

The Guiding Light is a popular cantina down on Golgotha Prime, where many a adventurer have quenched their thirst and found new business partners. Although the sign outside is small, the lanterns guide visitors to the right place.

A simple building yet full of character!
Love the lights( consider that idea stolen  8) )
and the tree/vine too.
Are you going to glue the building to the pavement piece or keep it removable?
