Hey dude - that looks like it'll end up nice, it's got a Traveller vibe so far.

Ow - I used to work at an opticians and did a clinical diploma and I've seen keratitis a few times, not fun!

Doing any better?

Hey, thanks friend!

My eye is a lot better, but since I have the worst eyesight (around -9.00 on contacts, somewhat higher on my glasses) and my glasses always slide forward, I get distorted vision while wearing them. Still, I try to do some hobby stuff. I've put some details on the cargo hauler this morning.

That thing with your eyes sucks, but good to know you're on the mend.  I've been using an 'optivisor' for painting and it works a tread, comes with multiple lenses that 'stack' to give some good magnification.  May be worth a try?

You have my sympathies.

Many recommend an optivisor, sounds like something worth looking into. I'm going on holiday on Saturday, flying to Mallorca, so I'm trying to keep the hobby budget low.

Help!

As always, I need some input.

When painting the hauler, should I go with a generic colour scheme (grey with some markings) to be able to use it in many roles when playing RPGs or should I go with a more dramatic colour scheme (crimson red with black details and orange cockpit lights) and have a designated (new) crew?

I'm leaning towards the first alternative, but would like some input.

Paint it generic, then build a second for a specific crew. :)

This, my friend, is an idea I fully support!

A short intermission:

I've built a little vacation diorama as a wedding gift for our friends (it will contain hard cash for the wedding trip vacation fund when finished)

I'm also glad your eyes are doing better.

I used to make my wife something similar with cheap wooden boxes stained on the outside and a neat scene on the inside.  Your are much better.  I am sure they will love it!

Thanks, friends!

Another two weeks and I can wear contacts (and paint miniatures) again! (...hopefully)

It's really nice to build and paint something different than I usually do. Although I want the end result to be good, I've got a bit more lenience towards non-perfect work when it's not supposed to be on my gaming table. Now I want to build some cliffs and hills for my badlands board, although there is so much I want to do!

Hey, Ockmann!

As a 15mm guy I really love your thread! Your miniatures and terrain are top notch and I think I bought a lot of GZG stuff after seeing them here with proper paintjobs. I will continue visiting and leave comments from now on. I really love "Skulltaker" and those yellow GZG guys you have posted recently. All my best wishes for your eye-sight, I hope you can continue your splendid work! Best regards,

Skully :)

Bounty Hunter Kali Nihk by Oscar Falk, on Flickr

In a galaxy with countless inhabited worlds and affordable intergalactic travel, it's pretty easy to drop off the grid, if one wants (or needs) to. Charter a berth on an outgoing transport, stow away in a cargo hold or commandeer a vessel with out-system capabilities.

If the troubles are large enough to make one flee the system, chances are that they are large enough to warrant a bounty. Although it might be easy to disappear, everyone leaves some kind of trace behind...

Bounty hunter Kali Nihk knows how to follow a trail. She scours records, examines ship manifests, interrogates contacts, goes over security footage, whatever it takes. No matter how small the trace, she will find it and she will follow it. There's no place where she won't go, armed with her Winter Inducted Industries RVL-023 "Zapper", ready to stun her target - and everyone standing in her way.

Great new figure. Really love the terrain and that pile of boxes. Small wood cubes? Brilliant stuff!

Thank you, Andrew!

They are ≈ 8mm wooden beads. There's a hole through them, so I've added a square of 0,5mm thick plasticard to cover it up.
