Thank you, Brummie!

I want to be able to play some roleplaying games, so characters, NPCs, civilians and characterful terrain is my focus.

But when I see armies like yours, I want to build larger forces than my 4-8 minis crews/encounters (even if I don't see myself playing larger engagements).
A larger force (or two} could be nice to use as background in a roleplaying game, almost as terrain in a way...

The problem would be which armies/supplier/race etc.would you choose? You start with 2 & end up with 20 !!!  :D   ;) ....

So many minis so little time & space 😔

Midi Midori walks down the street by Oscar Falk, on Flickr

Even if Golgotha Prime draws adventurers and their likes like magnets draw iron filings, a substantial part of the newly arrived come for ordinary, unexciting jobs.
Mechanics, data clerks, technicians, construction workers, droid programmers ...Golgotha Prime needs them - and other specialists as well - and its denziens are prepared to pay them well. These people might not be looking for danger, but on Golgotha Prime danger might find you, whether you are looking for it or not.

Midi Midori studied linguistics at Okani University. She studied traditional as well as programming languages, specializing in the ancient, archaic and alien kind. While being interesting subjects, they were useless on her homeworld. After months of unemployment, Midi got an offer to come work with translations and decoding on Golgotha Prime. With the remnants of an ancient alien civilization and loads of corrupted data from the first (catastrophic) colonization, her skills would be highly valueable...

Of course her parents had been hesitant to see their daughter go. There were so many rumours and stories about Golgotha Prime, about the rampant crime and the dangers of exploring old ruins. Midi told her parents that she would be working in an office, explorers would bring her texts and data-slates recovered from the old vaults, and the company had an apartment for her in upscale Point Breeze. She would be safe. As safe as one can be on Golgotha Prime.

Now, a standard year later, Midi Midori feels right at home on Golgotha Prime. Sometimes  there's a shootout in the streets, sometimes there's a riot, but Midi knows how to avoid being caught in them.
Sometimes NeoDyne Security tries to apprehend a pirate captain. When that happens, it's a good idea to just turn around and mind your own business...

Suddenly, a commotion catches Midi's attention by Oscar Falk, on Flickr

Great looking stuff.

Thanks for sharing photos of your minis and terrain.  Nice inspiration for the ditherers among us, who have too much unpainted metal.

Thanks, Mako!

It's been hard to find time for my hobby, but I've saved some minis painted during my parental leave so it looks as if I'm still working on stuff   ;)

Well, I've already got some GZG Colonial Defense Force minis and vehicles, enough to make a smaller force, I've got enough GZG Islamic Federation to build a second force and I've ordered some Crusties from GZG...

Thanks, mate!

I've got to get back at building/painting, but right about now, whatever hobby time I've got has been directed at building and painting the moomin house (to my wife and children's excitement).

The pictures are old, from the building phase this winter. Now I'm texturing and undercoating.

Nice little write up, I like the idea do the back side of the tower being open, you have to tell us how it works out for gaming.

Haha, the Moomin house will be a doll house/decoration for the children's room.

My wife suggested that I put my skills to use for 'the greater good', instead of hiding it away in the gaming cupboard.

Ohhhhhh! I love the moomins! Brings back childhood memories. They were alsokinda creepy, though. Wasn’t there also something evil?

Very nice, but I also like Midi, your latest addition.

Thanks, Florian! Haha, I didn't mean to put the focus on Moomins, but here we are!

I do enjoy the Moomins as well, but they are a bit special. There's the evil Groke (Mårran in Swedish) which brings winter and cold, the Hattifnatts, quiet, omnious, electric, tadpole-like creatures. I have only read the books and watched the stop-motion animated tv-series.

It's pretty interesting that a children's book from the 1940's is filled with queer themes. Love it!

Great job on the doll house and Midi!

Thanks, Skully!

It's a little Finnish Swedish troll, that Swedish parents like to plaster their children's rooms with:
