Source for Aztec Priests(s)?
« on: April 12, 2017, 06:31:43 PM »
I was thinking of selling of a case of Mexican peons because I did not want to buy an enforcement company when I came across my soldados de cuera troopers.

Lance, carbine, short sword, namesake soldado de cuera... who says the soldado de cuera cannot be a "lined coat" instead.  Instant "federale troopers and lancers" - I just need two Aztec Priests that match the LWR 25mm troops.  I can justify a 28mm Cucaracha but normal Aztec priests should IMHO be no taller than the Mexican troopers.

If I want to mount the troopers as mounted infantry could I buy a riding horse for each one in points?  Would I point their training to ride (but not fight) on horseback {useful for a rebel led ambush scenario} at some value less than the cavalryman trait?

Anyway where do I look for 25mm Aztec priests?  1, 2 at most.

And if I wanted a 28mm Aztec Character figure for the Generalissimo's Spiritual adviser accompanying Colonel Garcia where would I look?

Viva Alta California!  Las guerras de España,  Las guerras de las Américas,  Las guerras para la Libertad!

Ciao,
considering distance Eurekaminiatures USA should be your best option: https://eurekaminusa.com/collections/aztecs-28mm there is a sacrifice set with a priest a victim a some assistants.

More Aztecs 28mm:
- TAG (the assault group) : http://www.theassaultgroup-shop.co.uk/aztec
- Wargames Foundry : http://www.wargamesfoundry.com/pike-and-shot/aztecs/
- Outpost : http://www.outpostwargameservices.co.uk/aztec_gallery.html
 - and some nice Meso and North Western American characters even from Paymaster games: https://www.facebook.com/Paymaster-Games-359212084153483/

 ;)

This chap does 25mm Aztecs  http://tinsoldieruk.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=213_215

as does this bloke. http://www.mondayknight.com/Miniature%20Pages/GoldandFeathers/Aztecs.htm

Now if I remember LWR were true 25mm, so the other more modern sculpts may be quite large in comparison

Thank you.

Yes LWR are 25mm but I have no problem with larger "character" figures in many cases.

Thanks.

I avoid EurekaminiauresUSA for personal reasons but there products seem good quality and I have advised others to look there in the distant past.

Lots of nice to very nice figures in those links!   :-*
