They're looking fantastic, well done! :)

Ah, so heroic-scaled tiles then? Seems appropriate. ;)

They match the heroic scale door and window.  lol

Don't worry, I've not been over doing my bran flake consumption just to get the box sooner.  lol

You could have jyst removed the bag of cereal out of the box to get to your tiles sooner. :-)
Been 5 days w/o an update. You sure you didn't over due it and you been on the toilet all this time?

Ah, I see that you have managed to find a small enough table that you can fit in the khazi with you.

Second cottage pretty much done now. Slightly different take on the finish of the chimney on this one (no, I didn't do all the stone work and then cover most of it up  ;) ). I reduced the roof tile size to 7mm which looks a little better although there are issues with ensuring they alternate evenly. Wouldn't have thought that would have been a problem but it was.

Really need to sort out what I'm going to do painting wise now.

I also stuck together the parts for the two town houses.

I like the variation your working in to these.

Do you cut all the tiles individually or are they in one piece rows? Keeping them in one piece may make lining them up easier.

Individual tiles cut out for these. The 8mm ones on the first model lined up perfectly well but 7mm seems a little awkward. Might try strips of tiles for higher class buildings that need neater looking roofs.

I like that a lot.  Agree that single tiles are a pain in the b... to get right but I have to say yours look pretty good.  Can't wait to see them painted up.

Wonderful progress.
They all look great and I will join the queue eagerly awaiting the colouring-in.

I had good results with strips of tiles, but obviously couldn't "line them up" with previous lines of tiles to get good alternating patterns. My tiles were also significantly smaller... and even though I tried to mix things up by cutting some at different angles and different lengths, the end result is still fairly satisfactory:

I used a few individual tiles with braille-rivets (from my saved up medicine boxes) to portray tiles that had slipped. Although it surely isn't as visually pleasing as an individually-tiled roof, it was probably quicker. I say that, even though I spent over 2 hours preparing the shingle strips and another 2+ hours painting them. I also wonder if I shouldn't have overlapped them more. A few of the strips show signs of having been laid down too hastily, and too high on the underlying layer. I'm sure it'll be unnoticeable once I get some moss and creepers laid down. Now to find some birch seed pods for the ivy!

I really like the way this village is shaping up. The plaster between the beams is perfect!
