After some 10 years the New Silverton parish has finally gained a new church and house. The local minister N.D Wolfwood is particularly happy as the last 10 years hes been having his gatherings in the local hotel. Which has seen possibly a higher patronage than otherwise but has had the downside of frequent interruptions to the gathering.

Based on some mdf builds with some extra bits and details added.
First up is the frontier cottage. Featuring a brick chimney and cork brick fireplace, and a small veranda out the front. I added corrugated card to the roof to keep it in keeping with the town. The church and house have added corrugated card to keep them in keeping with the rest of the township. There's plently of corrugated iron in town with all the mining and industry around.

Heres the Church, the local gun shop, and the new cottage thats been put up.

A view of some of the buildings in town.

Cheers
Matt

Ooooh, love those weathered metal roof plates. They look awesome and add so much to the buildings. Awesome finish!

Good looking stuff all around - buildings and people.

At the start of the thread some years back, you said

Thanks Joroas, Paul and James for the comment on the rust. I find it difficult to look realistic, I end up going too far, or too orangey. It's nice to see that reality has lots of variables and oxidisation occurs differently in different contexts. I think I need to find some more good rusty roof shots for reference.

Though I think you're fine, for anyone looking for such reference pics, don't forget Model RR sites and YouTube for weathering Model RR buildings.

You also left Slim out of your posse back in the beginning.  Good decision, IMHO.  Always been troubled by that figure.  Between his stance and how high he's wearing his gunbelt I'm not sure how well he'd do in a firefight, though I'm certain in a typical TV western high noon, fast draw, life or death matchup like the show Gunsmoke had for its opening,

not only would he fare about as well as Marshal Dillon's opponent, the same would be true if he was up against anyone whose draw speed was faster than one that could be timed with a desk calendar.   :o

Thanks Malebolgia :)

Terre, thanks for looking back into the archives :D
I was looking at heaps of refference images for the roof this time round, and what surprised me was the images often showed only partial weathering with some of the galvanised steel still being in place, thus the new approach this time around.

Ooh that's a quick draw! Much quicker than a desk calendar  lol

Nice additions.

And perhaps an after action report due circa 2032 or so?!  :o

Nice to see all the photos still show up from the original posts.
