Issues with Gorgon Studios in the USA
« on: February 01, 2024, 02:49:21 PM »
Hi,

I am based in the UK and I put in an order recently with Gorgon Studios for some of their beautifully sculpted miniatures.

A day or so later I changed my mind about the order- wanted to change the miniatures to the value of what I had already paid- gave instructions to do so politely on the site via the "Contact Us" form.

I have now tried to contact Gorgon Studios five times in quite a short period of time- I was not getting a reply and I am within my rights to keep trying to get a response.

This is very bad form for a wargames company.

Do you have any clue as to whether or not they've already packed and shipped your order? Because if so they may be in the process of trying to find it before they reply.

Exactly what span of time are we talking about here?

A day, two max before I asked for the order to be changed, Also, it is good practice if the package had been sent to let me know. no such notice has been given.

It would be remiss of me not to communicate that all is sorted with Gorgon Miniatures now.

I got my miniatures, the changes I asked for were mostly made etc.

Hi Atheling,

About how long did it take to receive the miniatures?

Hi Atheling,

I didn't time it but I reckon roughly, about a month.

Glad to hear it got sorted. Within a reasonable time frame then. I pretty much expect a month for anything transiting the oceans.

Hands up who recalls writing to some obscure manufacturer whose goods you had only seen in a magazine advertisement, first requesting a catalogue, which may or may not have been illustrated and then writing a cheque for the miniatures*, posting it, waiting for the cheque to clear, then the much longer wait with bated breath for said items to arrive.

Tell that to the youth of today and they won't believe you.  :D

*Depending on where they were as often as not it meant going to the bank or Post Office and purchasing an international money order.

Yeah, I was panicking prematurely.

 lol lol lol

In many way, I think I preferred it that way, it was somehow more of an adventure despite being frustrating at times. I once waited three months for an army to be delivered!  o_o

Depending on where they were as often as not it meant going to the bank or Post Office and purchasing an international money order.

Yep, even as "late" as 2000 I was sending out money order even to UK companies!  lol
