That's a superb looking bridge Jim. May I enquire as to its provenance? I could do with something like that.

Another great game, love everything!

The awesome miniatures, nice scenery and after action report

Thanks, Belgian.  Appreciate it.

Wow, that was indeed one-sided!  :o

What was the mechanism you used to call in the mortar fire? Could you do it on any card for the U.S. side? Was it automatically available? Just curious...

Sounds fun...for you -- not so much for Ted!  lol
Mike Demana

Thanks, Mike.  Here's the rules we used for the mortars.  They're based on the "airstrike" random event in the rules, but with the scatter reduced 9I figured that well-trained 60mm mortar crews' rounds would scatter less than a 500 lb. 'dumb" bomb...

OFF-BOARD MORTARS
The US Rangers have access to the Company’s 60mm mortars.  They can call for up to 5 fire missions, at no more than one per turn.  There are 2 tubes per mission.  1st and 2nd Squads have radios, and the RTOs cannot shoot any turn they attempt to call for fire.  An Easy Task Roll gets the mortars that turn.  If not successful, try again in a future turn.
If successful, place 2 aim points, 5” one from the other.  Roll to hit for each aim point, using the range from the RTO to the aim point (short range is up to 24”.  Long range is beyond 24”).   Do not use the Rangers’ Dead-Eyes Trait.  If hit, the aim point stays where it is.  If missed, the aim point deviates a random direction d10”.  The Burst Diameter is 5”.  Roll to Wound/Damage for each figure/vehicle within that diameter.   A 2nd or more consecutive fire mission at the same original aim point only deviates ½ d10 on a miss, only for the previous shots that missed.  Previous shots that hit do so again.

And yes, it could be called in on any card for the US side, but calling for fire took up the entire action for the spotting unit, whether it arrived or not.  And the spotting unit had to have both LOS to the aim points and access to a radio...

Another GREAT AAR  :)

Thanks, AKULA!

Thanks, Carlos!  The bridge is an mdf kit from Miniature Building Authority.  Here's a link:  https://www.miniaturebuildingauthority.com/proddetail.asp?prod=DIR-345

I've had a die-cast ambulance for a while, and I've finally painted up a crew for it.  The ambulance comes out at about 1/48 (I dolled it up just a little bit), and the crew are Offensive Miniatures 28mm metal figs.  These will also be used in some of my post-apoc games - see my thread down there...

Nicely done.

If they've got some low-temp soldering irons in there, they can do some emergency patching up of casualties!

Thanks, Cat.

And that wouldn't work on plastic figs.  These guys have an  Advanced Life Support rig.  They carry tubes of SuperGlue and plastic model glue... ;)

Just finished painting up a Press Crew.  2 photographers and their driver/escort.  They are 28mm Full Metal Miniatures.  The escort and the male photographer are from their "Film Crew/Reporters" pack, while the female photographer is a single figure pack.

The pics below show them from different angles...

They were fun to paint up.  The "Film Crew/Reporters" pack also includes a videographer, a reporter with a hand mic, a guy holding up an overhead mic, and a reporter taking notes on a notepad.  I'll get to those eventually.  In the meantime, I have a US Army rifle squad (circa late '80s/90s) all prepped and primed.  I should start on painting them with in the next few days.

I should be able to use the press crew for my Vietnam, Modern, and Post-apocalyptic games...

The die-cast stuff is super helpful and I love the fact it doesn’t require painting just a bit of weathering usually

Nice looking forward to seeing the 80s US on infantry as well.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Indubitably.   I keep an eye out for diecasts wherever I go.  I have found them in less-than-anticipated places, such as a sidewalk market in Lisbon, and an antique/gift store here in my little burg.......

And here is my 1990s US infantry 1st Squad.  The figures are 28mm, and are a mix of Stan Johansen Miniatures and MoFo Miniatures.

The figures are in BDUs with PASGT Kevlar helmets, some with goggles.  They all have ALICE personal equipment, and there is a mix of M69 and MOLLE vests.  One of the grenadiers is wearing a grenadier vest.

These 2 pics are the Squad Leader (far left, ready to pop a smoke grenade) and Fire Team A (left to right - team leader, grenadier, SAW gunner, and rifleman (who has an M72 LAW slung on his back)).

These next 2 pics are Fire Team B.  Same configuration as Fire Team A, but no LAWs.

And this last shot is the whole squad together.

Not sure what's next.  I gotta ponder that....
