Golgotha's Sci-Fi
« on: April 21, 2020, 01:35:58 AM »
Herewith, some Imperial Assault Star Wars miniatures.

First up a walking rug with a nasty attitude. No doubt rebel scum.

Helping the glorious Empire find rebel scum like wookies some scout droids.

Notice the chipped paint and weathering.

Brave and heroic stormtroopers bring peace and stability across the Empire.

Helping command the forces of order. Note the miniature on the right has darker uniform and therefore is more high ranking.

The Royal Guard helping to protect the Emperor.

An All Terrain Defence Pod AT-DP.

"Yes, they're remarkable machines—faster and better armoured than the old AT-RTs."
"What about firepower? That ball cannon looks mean."
"I've seen a single shot punch through medium vehicle plating. That mean enough for you?"
― Piers Roddance and Ames Bunkle, see: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/All_Terrain_Defense_Pod

Rear view AT-DP

Right hand side AT-ST

See: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/All_Terrain_Scout_Transport/Legends

Rear view AT-ST

Left hand side AT-ST

AT-DP and ATST hand in hand. Great for providing support to the stormtroopers and destroying rebel scum.

Long live the Emperor.

Still need to work on the bases - want something relatively generic so "fits" multiple settings especially as the Empire is needed to maintain law and order in so many different settings.

I decided to build an X-Wing. Should be ideal for an airstrike on the AT-ST

Very nice AT's.  Did they fix the known issue with the top hatch locking mechanism failing to engage on the new model?

Cheers Syrinx0

I have no idea. Both my hatches came shut. I have not tried opening them. Maybe I should. LOL.

Thank you Easy E.

Herewith, Tehnolog Robogear T-Rex and Locust. These are ideal for numerous Sci-Fi settings. Great as big stompy robot mech sort vehicles. In scale they match anything ranging from 25mm through to the new "giant" 40k. Judging by the miniature they come with they are around 1/48th in scale.

At any rate I managed to get two for under £10 with postage from Russia on ebay, very pleased. They will require a fair amount of work to get up to scratch. especially in terms of getting rid of join lines etc. but with a little bit of effort they can look rather good. These models provide numerous kit bashing options, for more on what this modeller did see: http://www.starshipmodeler.com/mecha/pl_robo.htm

For some inspiration - Watch:

Official Tehnolog website, see: http://www.tehnolog.ru/index.php

The Tehnolog Robogear range, see: http://www.tehnolog.ru/product/robogear.php

Tech sheets for each of their walking tanks, the write ups are rather fun, includes some good photos of painted miniatures, see: http://www.robogear.ru/eng/skelet/2/protectorat/index_t_rex.php

Do note that Airfix released these a number of years ago - but do not bother trying to find those as they tend to go for high collector prices.

Studio Siberia also stocks them, see: http://siberia-miniatures.ru/advanced_search_result.php?search_in_description=1&keywords=robogear&x=0&y=0

For an overview of the game for which they are meant see: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/14398/robogear

Tehnolog also have the rules available to download here: http://www.tehnolog.ru/download/rules.php

At any rate here they are with painted new generation space marines from GW. Despite being unpainted they actually match the colouring of the space marines relatively well for now.

Herewith some pictures of them in the first game played. The idea behind this game is a future Mars Rebellion. Blue Marines are the forces of earth and Red Marines the Martians fighting for Marsian independence. Rules used were homebrew and I think I should type them up and share them here, as they worked rather well.

The Bio-dome looked better than this picture did justice as it had a light shining inside it. It is from I believe a hamster ball. It seems hard to find see through domes suitable for this sort of Sci-Fi terrain.

Having owned hamsters through most of my formative years, I definitely will confirm it.  Twas my first thought upon seeing the pic before I read the post!

Great stuff! Unlike the Technolog models from what I have seen online. Your color concept and basic plot premise is cool. The hamster ball dome with lighting is genius!

Herewith, Starlink Battle for Atlas Miniatures which I repainted. Starlink is evidently some sort of consul game - Starlink: Battle for Atlas is a new action-adventure game where you assemble a custom starship mounted to your game controller to launch into an interplanetary adventure. At any rate, the miniatures are about the right size and I picked them up in a pound shop. The female miniature originally had white hair and a guitar she now has a more suitable Sci-Fi weapon and pink hair. I have kept the guitar which may be useful for something in the future. They evidently also made some spaceship sort of things which could potentially be useful. I picked up a few other bits some of which look like large guns which could come in handy.

I picked up some of those from Poundland too,
though I didn't even consider removing the guitar.
You, by the way, have done a much better paint
job on them than I did. :-*
