VSF tricycle artillery upgrades
« on: October 06, 2016, 01:17:09 AM »
My other project started tonight. Assembled the Eureka Pax Limpopo artillery pieces. Drilled out the front of the gun barrel on the big one. That's ready to paint but may replace the crew apart from the driver.

The smaller one needs more work. The gatling is a terrible moulding, simplified and just too small.
Luckily thanks to Matakishi's recent sale I have a spare redoubt gatling. Have to work out a way to mount it because the larger size means the gunner no longer fits or holds it properly.

Here are the two gatlings compared:

The crews figures are pretty terrible. I have no choice but to keep the drivers, but I cleaned one up, spent ages trying to get rid of the mould lines and he still seemed to have visible ridges everywhere..
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :
figures bought: 500+
figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt
