I love how the Brits turned out. I wish there was a little more oomph to the martians, they look so bland next to those colorful Victoria's Best.

I spy Lt. Arthur, Major Bagley, Mrs. Gates and some of the other "Temple of the Beastmen" gang in that top picture. Ah, that brings back happy memories of rainy holiday afternoons on the Dyfed coast. Always take "Temple of the Beastmen" with you if renting a house in a resort with unreliable weather.

And I don't think you should let Slippery John Grimes stand next to poor Miss Lucy. He's an untrustworthy sort, and she's suffered enough as a slave-girl in the clutches of those lecherous High Martians.

Top stuff.

Great stuff there, the British especially look brilliant.

I'm not a fan of the "Elvish" Martian myself, I prefer WotW type tentacled ones. All the same, these are great.

I can't remember if I commented on these on Frothers or not, but that is a stonking job on the Brits, Steders.

And I quite like the look of the Martians, if there's room for tentacled monsters and big green beggars, there's room for these fellas too.

I think some of you chaps are being a bit harsh on the old 1889 Martians. I have a particular fondness for that game universe and its denizens.

Okay, the Canal Martians are the least interesting of the bunch, but the Hill Martians and especially the High Martians are pretty damn cool, and not particularly elf-like at all. They have much more interesting pointy ears than Legolas or Mr. Spock.

Just love those High Martian "Beast Men." Pictures pinched from Kevin Dallimore and not painted by me, I must add. One of these days I'll get around to painting my own High Martians.

Just read that after finishing a long shift at work and thought it said "Elvis Martians"  :?  ::)

Now that is one figure range I'd LOVE to see  lol

Great work there Steders. Between your pics and those posted by Plynkes Martians of the two legged variety are becoming rather tempting.

Do you have contraptions of any sort to support the Brits or Elvis Martians?
Don't!

Just to be clear, are those winged ones in Plynkes' pictures the figures that are titled "High Martians" in the RAFM webstore? Only they don't have a picture.

Yes, High Martians are the most feral and nasty of the Martian races, and are the ones with the flying squirrel-style webbed wings between their arms and torso. They are the Beastmen from the title of the "Temple of the Beastmen" game.

They are called High Martians because they live at high altitudes in the mountains, not  because they are noble and sophisticated (which they aren't), or off their faces on dope (which they might be).

When you buy them you get matching pairs of flying and landed ones like in the pics, which is cool. You also get the little bit of wire for them to 'fly' on and a metal base with a hole it slots into.

Another thing for the must-get list then. I love finding new gems in old ranges. Looking at the RAFM webstore, the "High Martians" entry is very easy to miss, or to mistake for being simply a collection of some of the miniatures displayed higher up on the page.

I've got some tripods for the martians, a few scout flyers and a small sky galley (the flying stuff is all in bags waiting to be converted).
For the Brits I've got a flying gunship and I intend getting a couple of steam tanks
