Chichimec army for DBA
« on: May 05, 2024, 04:57:06 PM »
I've been working on a Chichimec army in 20mm plastic as opponents for my Aztecs and Conquistadors. A no-prize for anyone who recognizes the origins of the figures.  :D

Have to agree in regards to the basing- what is your recipe, if you don’t mind my asking?
Beautiful painting as well by the way ;)

Unfortunately, the most important element is road sand from Nova Scotia, handed off from a friend many years ago now - I am starting to run low and I don't know what I'll do for a replacement! 😅 Then I have some patches of Woodland Scenics fine ballast (mostly brown with just a pinch of gray) and Army Painter tufts (mostly "winter" variety but with a few brighter green or brown and yellow ones mixed in).

Very nice!!

Are these based on Caesar's Libyans (and or Nubians)? Do I get a no-prize?  ;)

They are, and you do! Yes, they all started life as Libyans - plus or minus a cloak here and there, and with hairstyles somewhat altered by greenstuff.
