We’d played several games at the end of last year, but haven’t played for a while.
I like the whole concept of the game, and have lots of WWI figures to do the core forces, and playing in 10mm it was pretty easy and quick to add the various summonable creatures.
We enjoyed the games, but some of the rules and scenarios feel a bit off (this is more from a gaming perspective than an historical perspective).
HMGs are very effective - and even more so if mounted in an AFV.
AFVs feel very under pointed.
Cavalry feel very brittle and therefore hard to use.
Distances to move to secure objectives feel long given the turn length of the games and suppressive effects of shooting.
There are a lot of special rules. This gives flavour but means a lot of work to learn your army
Spells are a bit underwhelming
Summons are great fun - both from things going wrong and their ability to change up the battlefield. Often we would throw lots of dice into casting just to try to generate summoning dice.
The concept of the rules allows for lots of interesting terrain options
