This weekend, a link to this video popped up on my Facebook feed:
https://youtu.be/iVZIxyplnh4 (https://youtu.be/iVZIxyplnh4)
I'm not going to give a review of the review, but I learned a lot of interesting and useful stuff from it...especially with careful use of the pause button!
An early look was just what I needed to cement in what was, honestly, already a sure purchase for me. I'm looking forward to using my dungeon tiles and taking a new wizard warband on perilous adventures into the catacombs below Felstad!
Has anyone heard if Northstar is doing some sort of Nickstarter for this release?
-
I don't believe there is a Nickstarter for this one.
-
I don't play Frostgrave, but I do play ROSD, are the random dungeon rules in any way compatible?
If not, is there a chance of something similar for ROSD in the future?
Cheers,
Stroezie.

ROSD is based on the same "engine" as Frostgrave so I expect you can covert the system to Rangers without too much difficulty. My main question is how effective the solo rules and mechanics will actually be - hopefully worth the wait
-
I think you're wrong Joe.
-
Watch the video, see if you can spot the next release of Frostgrave miniatures ;)

Dungeon tiles and lots of nasties... ?
A wild stab in the dark...which is what my wizards' enemies normally get...

Wargames Illustrated has done a flip-through review of the book:
https://youtu.be/sOOrYCxm3fU (https://youtu.be/sOOrYCxm3fU)
This review flips to some different pages than the previous review. Using the pause button, I feel like I've read most of the rules section of the book! All that's done is convince me that what I've read is worth the purchase, and I really want to read the rest!
As far as the new minis go, I'm hoping for at least the Magmites and...whatever the weird name of the gnoll/minotaur hybrid was.
Hey Nick, can I also suggest dedicated Gnoll wizards at some point? At this time, I think they're the only plastic box set that came out without their own wizards!
-
You're right on the first counts.
Gnoll Wizards. I'll take Joe's lead there.
-
great development this.
I guess it's unlikely given the scale of investment necessary, but Rob Oren's idea for a boxed set, say with dungeon and room tiles, would just be wonderful for the game at this point in time.

Well, there are these guys: http://northstarfigures.com/prod.php?prod=8421
I know, they are not GNOLL Wizards, but they are definitely the type of wizard who would lead a warband of Gnolls through Felstad. That is what they will be doing in my games at least.

I learned more in the 3min Wargames Illustrated video than Rob's 5min video. I hope Ash from Guerrilla Miniature Games does a flip through and play through of some of the missions like he has with previous books.
Can wait, I have my copy pre-ordered
-
I've preordered Perilous Dark as well. Just debating whether to kick off a solo campaign and play the Dark Alchemy scenarios whilst waiting for the books release.
