This Summer should see the start of a bit of God-gaming in our group at last.
We started looking at Of Gods And Mortals some three years or so ago when it was first released, but one thing or another kept getting in the way.
Well, now it seems that we are actually going to get started.
I shall be initially be putting together two factions: The Greeks and The Norse.
I have a pretty good head start on these two factions as I have been slowly gathering figures to the cause which will see as little effort as possible needed to get things going. I shall also be raiding my existing collection to make life easier.
I know my mojo is a fickle thing at the moment so I want to make sure this project actually happens (just ask my ACW Rebs what happens when I dont...
).
To this end I have been picking up painted figures that require little effort to finish them off to add to the force and am counting on the basing to bring them all together as a coherent force.
First up will be the Greeks, as I have plenty of figures in hand to get started.
Here are the first few units that have been assembled this weekend....
First up are a very small unit of Hoplites, which can also be used to bolster other units if points need to be spent.....
...those shield transfers go a long way when cutting corners.
And a unit of Undead Spearmen......
....as I intend to use Hades as one of the God options and they will work well with one of the Legends that will join the force later. There will also be more Skellies added soon as well.
Next up, some Satyrs.....
........stolen from my Mordheim Beastmen warband, which will be donating quite a few as another God to be added will be Pan.
The first of the Legends, The Minotaur....
...another Mordheim escapee.
And finally for now, Chiron The Centaur.....
....who is on a very exaggerated base, but which will be a theme for the Legends to help them stand out from the Mortals.
Both Chiron and The Minotaur also work well in the 'Beasts of the Forest' force I plan to use with Pan.
More to come soon.....
