This is a very interesting building in terms of game use. All the buildings you’ve done are interesting but this is very interesting.

The photos of your work here is putting my attempts with the same buildings to shame. I look forward to seeing the games!

I would echo both of your sentiments in this case. ;)

Very nice!
I must object however, just when I thought I had all the buildings I would ever need for Venice, you post a picture of this! lol

Yes, it is a good one. Just about to complete the third part of it. Thanks all for your comments, it's keeping me motivated.

With our 'What A Cowboy!' campaign complete, I have finally been able to get out my sea mat and start a trial layout. Plenty more painting required yet, but it's nice to put what is assembled onto the table.

It's been a wild night in La Serenissima!

Sunjester and Ultravanillasmurf, many thanks.

I have completed the third building for the three part building which spans the canal. The balcony on the third building leans out over the canal, which I rather like.

I probably have enough buildings now for a small game. However, I haven't painted any of my Carnevale minis yet. I set this up yesterday and then used it for a game of Silver Bayonet, which will appear on a separate thread, on this board. I must get on with some Carnevale figures, as I want to try out the rules.

That's what I was thinking, both vertically and horizontally :(

I have no doubt it will be amazing when the whole board is covered.

And he now gets to charge 5 euros to anyone who visits, so he should be able to make some money back lol

These were exactly my thoughts!

This is becoming a really nice table , indeed. I would consider some poorer/more derelict looking palazzi as well - maybe an entire quarter, that doesn't look so colourful. Think Ankh-Morpork, maybe...

where you can walk on the canals?

actually, a couple of bits of debris for the canals could be interesting... is there rules for crossing the water?

Yes, it's very much a 3D game. You can jump across canals, climb walls and jump from rooves. TTCombat sell debris for floating in the canal. You can use it to make your canal jump easier. I will be getting some soon.

zemjw, happy to take 5 euros, if you want to pop in?

Michi, that's part of the plan for later. TTCombat make some wrecked buildings to represent San Canciano, where buildings have toppled into the water. I might do an area where the fishermen live as well. It might even feature the Three Jolly Luck Takeaway Fish Bar!

I have assembled the figures for one of the factions, the Patricians. Rather nice minis, they are too.

A Venetian Noble in the centre, flanked by two Barnabotti and then by two Household Staff. Thinking themselves untouchable by the law, the Patricians run Venice, bribing the City Guard and making their own rules. Their masqueratas are the thing of legend, psychopaths taking to the streets in perverse murder parties with no consequences.

I have completed another house. The Dimora di Leonardo da Quirm. I've run out of painted streets, so I need to get on with a few more now.

This is a superb project!  Great idea and fantastically executed!

Are you basing any buildings on actual ones or using gamers licence?  One thing about Venice that stuck in my mind was all the slightly leaning spires / towers.   Will you be adding a leaning tower?
