Weird War (Achtung! Cthulhu) in 15mm
« on: February 26, 2013, 10:43:11 PM »
Hi everyone.

I'm a long time role player taking the plunge into the world of miniature wargaming, specifically 15mm Weird War 2: Achtung! Cthulhu. I'm aware of the Call of Cthulhu forum, however that's predominantly 25/28mm Pulp. What I'd like from the friendly folk here, are any pointers to 15mm weird war Cthulhu appropriate minis. I'm aware of the Khurasan Miniatures line, so looking for others in a similar vein.

Thanks in advance.

Clockwork Goblin have the beginnings of a nice range of weird war in 15mm (clockworkgoblinminis.co.uk) & minis to represent soldiers & vehicles are easy to find, (Battlefront, Heer46, Forged In Battle, Peter Pig, The Plastic Soldier Company etc.). However, finding minis to represent investigators & Lovecraftian monsters is a bit harder. I think that you'll mostly have to use existing 15mm WWII figures & paint/convert them appropriately, while for monsters, the 28mm versions of some of the bigger creatures would be fine (the difference in size would actually be a good thing for representing, say, the bloody tongue incarnation of Nyarlathotep - the RAMF version would be perfect).

Rebel miniatures and splintered light miniatures might help you out - they have some useful figures in thier ranges. And don't forget Eureka's Sci-Fi Germans.

Think it's 28mm though - great if it was 15mm, maybe they'll do both if using CAD designs

I'm actually a 15mm war gamer, so if we can do 15mm we will, just gotta get the first collection funded first. Let's face it the big Cthulhu creatures will look way better in 15mm :-)

Have Clockwork Goblin boolmarked (awaiting the allied quad mech), and am in for your kickstarter (great source material, have all the old Weird War, and the Savage Worlds update - so great your making yours Savage Worlds compatable). Have to keep the fingers crossed - i play in 15mm too (mostly Gear Krieg), so beasties in that scale would be graet

Thanks for the replies, I'd already purchased the Clockwork Goblin Zombies and I've now got some German Stormtroopers on their way too!

It would be great if the new Achtung! Cthulhu minis are done in 15mm too
