Apparently I have a few different genres of Sci-Fi I paint miniatures for... Warhammer 40K, Atomic Age Retro, and something near future sci-fi/cyberpunk a la Ghost in the Shell.
Anyway, this figure doesn't fit in my established threads so I might as well start a dedicated one.

"The Major" from MDP, apparently sculpted by Steve Buddle for a company called Elodie May. Closest miniature to the Stand Alone Complex version of Motoko Kusanagi.

Urban War militia figure (formerly VOID), an Antenociti's bot with a Statuesque head swap, and a Reaper spy, "Astrid".

Splendid painting and I'm surprised no one else has done one yet, what with the new film coming out and all 8) 8)
(apologies if someone has and I've missed it)
cheers

Totally stealing that head swap on that bot!

Totally stealing that head swap on that bot!
Statuesque heads are my favorite- I've used them on quite a few different things :)
-
Those look fantastic!
-
Lovely! The bot is a very clever and subtle conversion indeed. Which scale head did you use (I have some of the Pulp scale heads sitting waiting to be used).
-
That Motoko is perfect. I'm also a fan of the Hasslefree one, but this one sure is more in line with SAC1. Excellent job.
-
Excellent stuff, any idea if that Major mini is still available somewhere?

Some nice work and good to see more cyberpunk stuff.

Zealot miniatures have the range now.

Stunning paint job on the first lady, no idea who she is supposed to be
Will be watching this thread some lovely stuff so far
What rules are you using for this project?

I know I could be quite 'dedicated' to her, myself. ;)
Well done, Matt!
So consistent[ly] brilliant, one could come to take your work for granted, but one would be an arse.

Pulp Alley, but I'm hoping that Rogue Stars will work as well.

lol That's interesting, after seeing this pic a friend of mine asked if my wife allowed me to spend time around women like her ;)

Great shading and highlighting on that first figure.
-
Great painting. The outfit is a little bit too... skimpy for my tastes ;)
Hasslefree's Hellboy/Marv could be a good base for a Batou conversion, no?
-
Nice selection of minis for a cyberpunk setting - and great painting, as always! 8)

Great work! got to love Ghost in the Shell. And that painting is just lovely.

Yeah done that one. It works well. Here he is with my (rather bad) conversion of the major, and a scratchbuilt thinktank.

I feel both their variants of Capt. Isseki make a better Batou... ;)

Your Major and Batou look the part, nicely done. Awesome job on the Fuchikoma!
I agree with those suggesting Hasslefree's "Isseki" for Batou- here's the one I used. Just had to add a bit of greenstuff for the cybernetic eyes. I painted him for an LPL entry.

Neat thread. You integrate the different ranges seamlessly and create a pleasing picture. I don't have much time for manga but those are some fantastic models. As I keep following I'll just tell myself a little lie about it being Deus Ex or Blade Runner :) .

Wonderful smooth brushwork, Dr M.

No idea at all about the subject but the lovely results are something to follow.
Which I most certainly will.
