Wonderful project! Revell made Dune models? When did this happen? Why didn't anybody tell me!? >:(

I really love it! The David Lynch movie is such a great visualization of Dune, even though not always in keeping with the book, that I always wondered why there were not more minis "inspired" from it!

Great job on these.

Wonderful project. This is pure Science Fiction and those miniatures are very nice.

Nice work.

Reminds me though, I've got a number of those Revell ornithopters I need to build still  ;D

Great work, still need to finish mine off. Not sure whether you can still get any of the minis though

Cool stuff and the ammount of models you want to paint is quite ambitious.
Can't wait to see what you come up with next.

After playing with some that i got for christmas i have a feelign that kinetic sand is just very vine play sand mixed with some sort of thin oil. I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to make a close approximation of it that would give you some sculpt-ability without being too heavy.
never trust a horse, they make a commitment to shoes that no animal should make.

Google has some results on that. Cornstarch, dishsoap among others.

I seem to recall reading something about clam residue when I was looking at this stuff for the wee ones.

Be sure not to end up with magic sand as I did, it has different propertie then kenetic sand.

Thx for the kind works. This really motivated me, to accelerate my work. Finish today 56x troopers of the dukes faction. On my painting plan 5 days are left ;)

Actual some of the details like the small flags on the shoulder and on the hats were quite hard to impossible to reply exact like shown and so repeatly.
But i love the result.
A group shot with the imperial faction will follow tommorow.
Next some 14x house guards of the duke faction + 2x officiers. I thinks for these i will need about 2 weeks or till the Hamburger Tactica, due to some friends visits.

No friends! You must eschew all distractions until this is finished!!!   >:(

 lol

"...the small flags on the shoulder and on the hats..." merely proves you're certifiable. However, certainly glad you like 'some of the details', because we sure do!

Looking forward to a couple weeks or so.

Great work  :-*

What rules are you planning to use for gaming?

Are you making any worm riders? I managed to make one and a small worm (You can see a pic here http://quendilsworld.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/fremen.html)

Keep going

A small Trike would be cool, like the one we see in the movie, driving up the ramp into the giant Harvester. Likely it was used as a scout in addition to the 2 or three Ornis every Harvester has assigned?

Fantastic, I'm impressed by the scale and the execution of the stuff you have done so far.

Makes me want to get my own Dune project going! I have all the Akula figures, these I don't recall seeing up for sale.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.
