Hey,
this weekend i started to build a new gaming table. My last where at most in british style and now i would have something like american village.
So the design is usable for a zombie epedemic outbreak or a postapocalypse or something like that.
Here an wip picture. Tomorrow i will start to paint the streets, pavements and green the plots.

Lovely photo with that sunlight. Looking forward to this develop.
-
Very nice, can also work for cold war gone hot, ivasion America, or disatopian fascist government vs rebels style games. I'll let you decided if the invaders are reds or aliens
Since it has a small town America almost 1950s/60s style. Check out brigade games in the USA post apocalypse and 1950s style post atomic figs.

Source for the buildings? I assume at least some are Sarissa, etc. if not scratch-built.
-
Perfect setting for something by David Lynch.
-
Today i´m starting to paint the street and roofs and later maybe the plots.
For the streets i will build some power poles. think that could be nice.
Pics gives later ;)
-
Very nice!
One question, what did you use for the "pavements", the walkways parts?
Thank you
-
3mm Depron Board. Thats hardfoam like Styrodur.
Its really practicable. Easy to handle. Be cutted with sharp knife and will be glued with normal wooden glue.
-
Thank you, will look for it!
-
Buildings look like the TT Combat ones, cheap and cheerful, with a fast expanding range.....
-
right, the buildings for this board are complete ttcombat.
here a small update of the day.
the street was grey ant the plots brown painted (and get an fine turf as blending).
the pavements needs a grey painting, and streets and pavements get the highlight tomorrow.
power poles will follow and some other details like crosswalk and a town sign "welcome to sunnyville"

That's a great look you're going for. I like the TT Combat buildings, they make a very decent base. Looking forward to watching this progess.

This is awesome. Who makes the bodies.

Bowler, that's really a very nice looking table, CONGRATULATIONS! ;)

I like TT Combat buildings very much; those suburban houses are great but the fuel dispensers look totally out of scale IMHO. :o

THANKS! ;)

This is looking like a great place to have a bad day. Nice table!
-
Bowler, looks great and yes very American!
FYI - 4Ground has recently released some Hometown Apocalypse homes that are super authentic American suburban.
-
Looks good, except as mentioned the petrol pumps look like 7mm scale escapees.
-
This makes me happy and I want to play a game on that table 8)
-
at crisis in Antwerpen we stay with Hysterical Games and Laughing Jack to support Panzerfäuste Futbowel.
I can ask if i can pick up that Table and we have a nice Apocalypse on it ;)

Indeed! I'll follow this thread too, very nice work.
Didn't know about TT Combat resin pieces, load of usefull stuff there.
-
great gaming table!
-
Nice! I could hear a bit of Gene Vincent guitar in the back of my head as I was viewing the street shots. Looking forward to seeing a great finish!
-
thanks for all you positive feedback.
in next days i stay with the aggro 70´s football skirmish at some cons and so you must wait for new pictures of the progress...
-
The board looks great so far.

Bowler, if you decide to do a second table for this adventure, check out the Sarissa 28mm Retro line. Very good motel with swimming pool and playset, good diner, excellent suburban houses that are similar to the ones you have, and an amazing single-wide trailer (aka, "mobile home").
Lemax also has some cool stuff, including street lamps that actually light up.

yeah, the Sarissa stuff i had in focus before and it will be following another board with this stuff.
long road, a gasstation, trailerpark and playground at the one side and a motel and diner at the other.
there can build in all my ideas they dont fit in Sunnyville... :D
-
You need a 'Mary K sold here' sign to go in front of the house with the pink convertible in the driveway. ;)
-
Beautiful! Is this 28mm ? Its hard to tell.
-
Herby, nice idea for a new fine detail at the board.
Bloodaxe, yes its in 28mm. best scale for skirmish wargames. so many stuff to get for it.
-
Here some pics from a con last week.
I tryed out to join the Zombicide system in tabletop. Ok, it needed some adaptions but now it runs very smooth...

That town turned out very cool!
-
Nice board and herds of zombies.
I saw my first Warhammer shop last week (though more likely to see Daleks than zombies outside).
