Dillinger look-alike miniature?
« on: July 25, 2009, 08:12:19 PM »
Going to see "Public enemies" tomorrow and I know I will start painting gangsters after that injection. Any ideas what 28mm miniature that would be the best "Dillinger"? Copplestone, Pulp, Dixon?

No idea, but don't forget Brigade Games has mobsters too.  ;)

Thats right, thanks for reminding me. Since Dillinger was fond of BARs that might be an option. Steve Barber could also be worth examining

They all seemed to like a BAR back then, personally I'd go with a fig in a suit with a Thompson. Seems more theatrical 8)

Well I've lead an evil life, so they say, but I'll outrun the Devil on judgement day.

Public Enemies is superb; I've already seen it twice. There really is no good look alike figure but any generic gangster in a Fedora, overcoat, and tommy gun would work for bank jobs.

tbh most gangsters would do, but i would say,.......don't waste your money. terrible movie. watch once upon a time in America instead, its such a good film. public enemies was nigh the biggest disappointment of my year.

Just came back...it wasn´t the best gangster movie I have seen but the figthing scenes were ok. Overall I think the Untouchables was much better.

I also enjoyed it. A lot of attention was lavished on details of clothes, weapons, scenes, etc... they even filmed many of the scenes at their actual locations. Some of the story itself was a bit confused, chronologically (for dramatic purposes, they'll say), but overall it held up fairly well, in my opinion.

As a bit of a plug, there is a John Dillinger fig in the works with Black Army. The plan is to give him multiple weapon options. Should be ready sooner than later. Will get some shots up when the sculptor is finished.
