Hi,
when i bought theese minis it seemed to me that the third century roman army could be an unusual choice (nor EIR neither late romans), but surfing on this awesome forum i've noticed that this period is growing in popularity more and more.
As for many among us the project was born by the reading of harry siddebottom's novels and from my personal interest in the third century period: i have gothic and sassanian armies in 28mm waiting for the brush.
So, i'd like to share my efforts in building an army that at first was born to play Aurelian by professor Mustafa, then shifted to he an hail cesar project, and then it came out as a perfect (almost) force to play basic impetus 2: i've tried the ruleset some days ago at my club's annual convention and it's great fun.
As you could see i used mainly A&A minis with a few aventines. I still have to paint some infantry (about a third of the total) and most of the cavalry (dalmatians, catafracts and equites).
