Last Friday we did another in our ongoing series of Weird ACW2 games. This one took place in an undiscovered lost valley in the little known country of Dumpistan. It involved two forces (one a consisting of the French Foreign Legion plus some adventurers and the other a generic Arab force), both attempting to loot the lost tomb of the legendary Dalai Chuck. Apparently, they had both been sold the same treasure map in the local tourist trap. The forces entered on opposite sides of the table and had to advance for a few turns before the first contact took place. This entailed the Legion's armor commander rashly advancing his armored halftrack against the Arabs without any infantry support. This resulted in a fight between the halftrack and an Arab armored car supported by an antitank rifle and a couple of units of good quality infantry. Unfortunately, for the French they lost both the firefight and the halftrack. After this both sides advanced more cautiously until the French set foot on the tomb grounds and activated the tomb guardians (an Efreeti, a Djinn, a mummy and a unit of ghouls. At first the guardians focused on the FFL which allowed a couple of Arab militia units to enter the tomb, put a unit on the roof and begin looting it. Unfortunately (for the Arab tomb raiders) they were not trained archeologists and they set off a booby trap which killed the tomb raiders (and destroyed the tomb). At this point we called the game since it was getting late and we were hungry. It was a very close game and is just asking for a sequel.

The Arab forces

Armor duel
-
Arab heroes - Ilhan the Ingrate, the Desert Shadow, Ubu and Achmed the Magnificent (who definitely did not live up to his name in this game).
-
After failing to activate for three turns the Arab archeologists debate their next move.
-
The tomb guardians activate.
-
The Legion faces the ghouls
-
The Djinn and Mummy appear
-
Arab militia storms the tomb
-
The tomb raiders find the lost treasure of the Dalai Chuck - the bottle of Barbara Eden, the tea kettle of Aladdin and a 40lb cubic zirconia - but fail to notice the booby trap! Better luck next time.

Wow!!! Impressive!!! It looks like lot of fun!!!
Congratulations!!
-
Magnificent! Looks like a fun and exciting game.
-
Well that's impressive.
Great collection, scenics and action. Looks a hell of a scrap!
-
Well done with all that!
And as we all know with any decent Pulp adventure, that booby trap couldn't possibly have destroyed EVERYTHING in that tomb.... ;)
-
WoW! Excellent job! Great AAR!
-
and a 40lb cubic zirconia
Now that is a hefty treasure of untold worth!

Great stuff!
I enjoyed the various guardians appearing - I assume the players didn’t know about them?

Mikos,
Great Write up.
I brought the FFL and the Arab militia. I played one of the French commanders (not with the armored car). We did not know what was in the tomb but knowing Mikos it would be nasty. A few of the guardian figures were painted for this occasion.
The tomb destruction rule really was invented because we were hungry. But clearly the Arabs had the upper hand.
Forces were 7 units of Arab militia, 1 unit of irregular cavalry, 2 units of Arab regulars with upgrades or antitank rifle or light mg.,
a two man Antitank rifle team, 4 heroes, 1 armored car. One unit of armed archeologists. (136 figures).
vs
French 1 Medium MG, 6 units of fierce marksman regulars, one armored car. 4 heroes. (84 figures).
The Arab militia were armed with rifles but were bad shots. The regulars were just that. The FFL regulars were good shots (Marksman) and particularly nasty in melee, (Fierce).
See rules posted in our last game, the Invasion of the Astro ants.

The Game looks really good. They should have called Mandrake the Magician and Lothar to come out to help. He would've known how to deal with those supernatural threats.
I mean, who ya gonna call? It'd be at least 70 years for those four other New Yorkers to show up with all that special equipment. Mandrake would've done it old school.

Man what a great looking game. Right up my ally. Now call me daft but what rules did you use. I mean I have a ton of pulp figures cause I love them so much. But not sure what game to use for them

OMG, Mikos and the Dalai Chuck.... I just realized who you guys are! So glad to see you all are still at it!

The tomb of the legendary Dalai Chuck? I presume the namesake has yet to go to his tomb? Did he show up to play? Haven't seen him in several years pre-COVID.
