Basing Zulus
« on: April 20, 2014, 09:42:00 AM »
I am about to start the Zulu War with Warlord Games Zulu Army Starter pack. What are the best options for basing the figures? In groups or individually. I want to use T&T rules as well as some larger games. Ideas and inspiration sought form the forum members.

Thank You.

I would suggest singly and then you have the option for larger games with sabot trays  :)

After years of having the vast majority of my samurai on 40x40 I'm currently doing the whole lot on pennies with the view of using sabot trays  :)

Hi, i also play the Anglo Zulu war with T & T rules and I use a mix of single based miniatures and multi based figures on round or oval multi base. I do not base more than three miniatures per multibase.

Thanks. I will give the mix of basing a try and use movement bases for singles. Are there any pictures of based figures out there? The battles took place in January but that is summer in SA I think. So the grass....Green tufts or Brown?

At that time of year, the grass would mainly be green.

At Isandlwana, it was very long, so I use X-large tufts.

Cheers

I forgot to say that my British are all Single based.
I used a mix of light and darf green grass tufts.
On some bases I mixed the green grass with some light brown grass tufts.
