Title: Spect_spidey's Pulp Alley stuff
Post by: spect_spidey on January 08, 2018, 11:44:43 PM
I am pretty new at posting pics of my painted minis. I know my painting is not even close to being the best. I have vision issues so the smaller the mini, the harder it is for me to see details. This is why I usually just paint base colors and do washes with no highlighting or dry brushing. These minis have such character and awesome sculpts that I just had to share. They were a joy to paint and I can't wait to get a game in with them.

Yeah, those look pretty darn good to me "for not even close to being the best"  lol
I don't think you are going to have any issues getting positive feedback on your painting  :D

Thank you for the positive comments. I really appreciate it. I normally only post my Walking Dead All Out War minis to my local Facebook group, but maybe now I will start posting them and my Malifaux minis to these forums.

Very nice indeed.
I really like that color scheme on Phantom Ace.

Which washes do you use? I like the brown tones in particular.

There is no shame whatsoever in a base-colour-then-wash system. That's exactly what I did with my orcs, using nothing but different brown washes on a very low number of different base colours. I recently found that a Vallejo Sepia wash on Vallejo tan brown creates a lovely marshy colour, and suddenly I've got a skintone for orc-y hordes!

I only used one wash. It was Nuln Oil from Games Workshop.

Why don't you post some pictures here instead of directing to an outside link? It used to be standard forum etiquette those days...  ;)

Great choice of minis, BTW!

I don't have a hosting service and I couldn't figure out how to get them directly into my post. The only images I ever post are to my Facebook page or to a Facebook group. Imgur seemed to allow me to post pics there without having to sign up for anything, so I gave that a whirl. LOL

You can post pictures from Imgur here, just copy the image's link and use the "Insert Image" tool  in the post formatation menu (image in the bottom of this post).

Here is one of your Imgur images in full glory as an example:

The picture's size (width and height) can also be adjusted in the HTML code of your post:

Note that in the above example https://i.imgur.com/ybXZ8W4.jpg is your picture's link.

HAVE FUN!  ;)

dinohunterpoa - Thanks for the tips. I was doing it wrong. LOL

d phipps - there will be more once my wife allows me to place another order with you. *laughs* until then, I posted my Walking Dead figures over in the Post-Apocalyptic section of the forums.
