Have been reading through this thread over the past few evenings and it is full of excellent stuff. I love terrain building but don't seem to get much time so any hints and tips like the ones on this thread are great! Brilliant job guys (I also just bought the Pulp Alley pdf so am hoping to read that once it arrives for some further inspiration).

With the temple design, how much that is hidden of the levels is mold pieces. Can we get a look see of the temple's underneath please?

Thanks, Elk101. I trust that your pdf arrived. Please let me know if this isn't the case.

Prof, the quick answer is - "As few as possible." Basically, I try to avoid using molded blocks where they will not be visible. - but I'll get you some pics too.

Funnily enough I was about to email you and then thought to check the junk mail and there it was. I've only just downloaded it.
Cheers!

Good, I'm glad you found it.  :D

Here're some pics of a couple pieces. I try to avoid using molded block for anything that isn't visible...

The piece on the left isn't finished yet... (top view)

Bottom view shows the blue styrofoam used to support the floor...

Awesome, thanks for that. I feel like I just worked out the Rosetta Stone before all the others.  ;)

More Hirst blocks madness...

I just finished constructing this piece for our ruined city set. It can be used on its own or as a base for another piece…

Mila made this cool temple piece…

I made this piece to be used as a stand-alone tomb or added to the top of other pieces…

I kept the designs very simple, so the hardest thing about this is molding a couple hundred blocks…

And then there’s this thing…

More to come….

Wow!
Those are great. I am trying hard not to buy any Hirst molds.

I especially like the flying rock piece.
Thanks.

Loving the temples! I finished reading through the Pulp Alley rules. They weren't quite what I was expecting - they were even better!  :D

And then there’s this thing…

After reading through Perilous Island in all of its entirety, I think I know exactly what (i.e. who) that thing is.  ;)

And good luck with that one because as you are now, I once was, and as I am now, you will soon be.  lol  ;D

One neat thing you might want to try is to have some vegetation you can lay on the temples, in case they need to be lost in a jungle somewhere.
