Title: 15mm Scifi Project - New Pics Added 29 October
Post by: colin_baillie on July 09, 2011, 03:20:49 PM
I've uploaded some new pics from my 15mm scifi project onto my blog. I've just finished of some Critical Mass Arc Recon, but I've also painted some power armoured infantry that I could do with some help to identify. I've had these for years and can't remember where they came from.

Check out my blog at http://eclipsingbinaries15mm.blogspot.com/

And here's a pick of the mystery figures I need identified....

Very nice blog, very nice vehicles, I like 15mm myself, got a small army with some critical mass stuff but thats it really.

As for the identification issue, I haven't got a clue! But they look very well done all the same.

Thanks Brummie, I've always been into 15mm scifi, ever since ordering laserburn figures from an advert in White Dwarf way back while I was in school. The Critical Mass figures are what tempted me into getting back into this genre again.

I'm starting to think the mystery figures may have been from Metal Magic.

Not heard of Metal Magic, are they still around or is it another small company which has a low profile?
And 15mm sci fi has to be one of the most vibrant genres out there, almost anything and everything for it that you could need its quite amazing. I'd say its there is so much stuff its hard to know where to begin!

Hi,

I've added a load of new pics of my 15mm scifi project onto my blog. This lot are of Battle Robots from The Scene painted as Security Robots for a Corporate Force, and the completed Power Armour figures I started the other day. You can see a lot more pics at http://eclipsingbinaries15mm.blogspot.com/

very good job! I like very much the green color of the vehicles and the soldier helmets.
These miniatures are for any rules???
Thanks!

Thanks Criamon,

The figures are from Critical Mass and based for their rules. The vehicles are converted toys and just for my own collection and not meant for any specific rules or background.

Love the holoprojector. Not sure if Khurasan invented the technique. Antenociti uses it since a couple of years for their G.O.T. range.

I tried something similar years ago for semi-transparent riot shields for some 20mm figures. The inkjet printing at the time with the material I had was too wet - it never dried and smugged off. I tried it through a laser jet but it melted the plastic and nearly killed the printer. I kept that quiet lol.

lol, i tried the same for some Stained glass pieces, and i had an almost-melted piece of plastic... not good at all

but i'm shure that there are some plastic sheets meant for laser printers, so... i'm gonna give a try, soon or later... :)

Just realised that the Matchbox toy ARVs that I've been using for my Federal Army actually open up to reveal detailed insides. I wonder what I can do with this?

Thanks,
Steve

Thanks Steve, Not sure which figure you're refering to as none of them are kneeling. If it's the one in the post above, he's a "Not-Arnie from Predator" from The Scene's Special Forces set. It's an AST-5 mini rig. There's no conversion work on this (so far), just a repaint...

After a great holiday to Spain with the family it was time to get some more figures painted and posted. A delivery from Rebel Minis had arrived while I was away, so those were first in the queue. I think these Rebels CATs work really well alongside The Scene's (Not)Terminators.

After watching Venus Wars, a manga/anime movie I picked up on DVD recently, I wanted to build a heavy tank inspired by the huge, heavy vehicles seen in the movie. I used a 1/76 scale WW2 German tank as a basis for a 15mm scale heavy missile tank.

As usual, more pics on the blog at http://eclipsingbinaries15mm.blogspot.com/2011/08/mercenary-mongrel-heavy-tank.html

I want to build more like this so opinions please.

It's a missile pod from an EM4 games mech, from their Iron Warriors plastics set. I'm using two from the set as manned mecha and two others as sentry gun-bots. I might get round to painting them soon.

It's been a while due to lots of Goblins needing painted. While in the garage searching for a figure I was sure I had, I came across these old figures. 25mm Kobolds by Nick Lund from the old pre-slotta Citadel/Chronicles range. Perfect for large 15mm low-tech reptilian aliens I thought, and they were...

So these are now Hhurrk warriors and ready to get into close combat with the Federal Army.

More pictures of these guys are on my blog, at http://eclipsingbinaries15mm.blogspot.com/ , plus so other new stuff.

It's been a whilw since I updated my 15mm scifi blog, mostly due to being busy on commissions and puting some stuff on ebay, but to get back into the swing of things I decided to paint up this little vehicle...

Probably useful for zombie, post apoc or near future, as well as scifi.

Actually, pics of these in bare metal were posted on TMP awhile back.  They posted a link to a black and white catalog image of them, along with various other minis from Traveller.

They are old, German 15mm Traveller minis, which supposedly are now out of production.

They look very nice, and I'd love to have some, if the info is in error.

I guess it is possible RAFM might have acquired the molds/masters, and hasn't put them into use yet.

I refuse to give up on 28mm, but this affirms the rightness of playing 15mm as well.

I've plenty of GZG lads waiting being brought to life, but it's the new VSF stuff that has me REALLY excited!

I have a 28mm VSF project as well, so I'm refusing to look at the 15mm VSF guys while I'm enjoying this scifi project. I'd get distracted too easily and the wallet and storage wouldn't accept another project, not to mention my wife.
