A good Robot Goes to War - Cyber vs Dalek Action!
« on: July 29, 2014, 08:55:45 AM »
Finally got all my Cyberman project stuff up on the website and a video of the Cybermen vs Dalek game!

Part 1 - Construction of the Cybermen

Part 2 - Painting the Cybermen

A small piece about making Cybermen from Akula's Galactic Armies - Assualt Troopers

And my wonderfully over the top video of the Cybermen vs Daleks game

I also salute your ability to paint bazillions of the dalek's bump things all over their bodies. Having painted a few I know just how much it can drive one totally insane with its boring monotony.
Scurv you obviously missed my eureka moment regarding Dalek bumps!

Germy, LONG TIME!

GZG mail list isn't the same without you; actually, near moribund. ;->=

Brill on the tube-to-bump paint work!

Wait a minute. 'Good Robot'? Where?!?!?   :D

Now, I need someone to tell me how to make Cybermen to match the Daleks from the Risk box.   ;)

That's a great technique for Daleks. When faced with the same challenge I went with a round tip black Sharpie.

Fantastic movie Batrep! :)
Well done.

Just as a hypothetical, if you needed to bulk out your cybermen with a couple dozen more, what would use use as a compatible foundation figure?

Great Stuff,

Well I'm still on it, but it's partying days appear to be over.

I was very tempted by the Risk Daleks ... as you know I do like the smaller of the scales and a proper 6mm or 15mm Cybermen vs Dalek battle would be amazing!  8)
Hmmm small scale Cybermen ... see now look what you've done  >:(

If the tube idea had failed that was my last option.

A couple dozen more? I made 50  :)
But I guess you could use any space suited miniature. The plastic Viridian marine I used is fairly armoured. The design I was looking for was from the 1980's which is basically a man in a jumpsuit painted silver. So if you were to used the collar conversion idea with a head swap then you could get away with using WW2 or modern pilots, tech crew in overalls or as I mentioned space suited miniatures. Oh god that 15mm idea keeps coming back now!

I'm off to look at what 15mm pilot miniatures are available  ;D

The scale of the project is awesome and very well executed ... inspiring.

Cheers everyone, just got to work out what the next project will be.
Last year was 120 Daleks  ;D
This year 50 scratch built Cybermen  :o

Next year I'm going to move away from the Doctor Who theme ... but where to go next ...
