Hello
I just find on a web archive of the Italian Museum of Risorgimento the scans of a very rare and never seen on books collection of contemporary uniforms of the Papal Army..the uniforms look from the period just after Mentana and up to the end of the armed forces of the Pope..i can identify that because of the presence of a plate depicting the Austrian volunteers created just after the victory of Mentana in 1867..the look of the unforms is more a dress service one..but i imagine that we wargamers could be a little indulgent in fielding, at least for some periods, some nice coloured minis with a little ammount of compromise toward reality...
https://www.newikis.com/en/commons/Special:ListFiles/Bramfabthere is, indeed, a plate that puzzled me..it's an artillery wagon..but i cannot imagine his purpose..why so high and so difficult to reach by the crew as to require what appear to be an Ikea type foldable ladder?...maybe someone can explain me that thanks to certain similaraty to French equipment?
