GW Vampire Coven Throne as Forstgrave Monument
« on: February 09, 2017, 03:34:12 PM »
Last year I got a good deal from a friend at a local game convention flea market on the Games Workshop "Vampire Counts Coven Throne". It's such a crazy over-the-top model that I thought it might make a really cool basis for a monument statue for our Frostgrave games.   Something along the lines of the Wellington Arch in London, but more over the top.

I thought I'd base the concept of the monument on where it says in the  Frostgrave rulebook Bestiary that in the city of Felstad some Vampires rose to be powerful wizards in their own right .  So I got the idea to make the monument be one constructed by one of these prominent wizard-vampires, depicting him and his apprentice in the heyday of their power.  So I ordered a Reaper Bones vampire figure to stand at the front of the throne, with the idea to use the reclining female vampire figure(that comes with the model) in the back of the throne to be his apprentice.
I built a simple base for the model out of some foamcore and some old plaster dungeon pieces, and made a pedestal from a juice lid, some Hirst Arts skulls, and some round bases.

For the full step-by-step build article, and many more photos, please see my blog: http://onemoregamingproject.blogspot.com/2017/02/gw-vampire-counts-coven-throne.html

Thanks!
If you're asking what I used to glue the model to the top of the pedestal, it was E6000 glue.  :)

A much better use for it. Completely impractical as a gaming piece but awesome as a terrain piece!

Thanks for continued kind remarks!

That was my feeling too when I saw it!  But it was such an over-the-top crazy model I wanted to do something with it! :)
