Thank-you.

Always good to see Ogryns in gainful employment!

I figure that surely not every abhuman is either a soldier or a criminal, some have to have legal(ish) work and integrate into society.

Meanwhile, by way of something different, my latest figures are over in the Fantasy Adventures page - some of the lovely Burrows and Badgers anthropomorphic moles: https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=113686.30  (I've had a productive Christmas break.)

Next up are some reinforcements for my PDF goons (rounding out to a couple of full-strength sections, and adding some options so I can use the in Kill Team at some point).

Okay, not the PDF reinforcements I promised, but a sale at Imitation of Life brought forward a plan for later in the year.

In hindsight, maybe opening a petting zoo in Sump City wasn’t the smartest idea, but it drew the crowds and brought creds to a rundown corner of town.  Locals and passing travellers alike were keen to spend a few creds to see some of Necromunda’s famous fauna up close in a safe(ish) environment.  Until, that is, some eejit left the millisaur paddock gate unlatched and a veritable swarm of the little tinkers absconded into the night.

I’ve painted up a few small groups of assorted critters over the last few years, but have had half a hankering for a full-on swarm of something gribbly.  Then I was lucky enough to win one of Imitation_of_life’s Rock Worms at the Sump City Radio SumpCon2 event (plus getting one of their Rock Grubs in my welcome pack).  The little gribbly critters were rather wonderful (both the sculpts and print quality) and would work perfectly as millisaurs and young millisaurs (as featured in The Book of Life).  A small purchase from IoL later and I had a total of 16 little ‘uns and three big ‘uns – perfect for when I need a swarm of critters backed up by something a bit bigger and meaner.

Cool!  8)

I was not familiar with this range; I especially love the big guys.

Early last year I did a similar, if smaller, project, using some original Milliasaurs and a Reaper Bones worm thing as a big guy. But I think your larger grubs look more coherent with the style of the originals...

Great gribbly minis.

I'm especially impressed with the photography - proper sense of terror with the camera behind the hapless guy that one of these things has burst out on!

They look great, what perfect minis for millisaurs, and the original colour scheme takes me right back. They’re fantastic in such a big swarm, and with the big fellas too - awesome! I’m very envious.

Thank-you.  It's been quite fun painting these as a: they're relatively quick and simple and b: there was a nice payoff as the numbers reached critical mass for a proper swarm of the little blighters.  (Playing around with the action shots was fun too.)

That's a nice little millisaur family there, that Reaper one is a big bugger - suitably terrifying.

Reinforcements have been assigned to Bastion 99 in the form of a couple more Sanctioners, a shiny new gun for a third and an urban pacification turret for the Bastion’s Tigr Armoured Patrol Vehicle.

The new turret for the Empress Miniatures Tigr is an Empress HMMWV turret (they were kind enough to sell me the turret separately) with an Artel W LEU gunner (with old Cadian gunner arms/hands) and the storm bolter from the Munitorium container set.  This is probably more for narrative/Inq28/Arbitrator use as I’m not sure a storm bolter is the optimum weapon for a regular gang in the Ash Wastes.

Having gained a bit of experience playing with the Enforcers list, I wish I’d given a few of my Sanctioners some Trading Post weapons, rather than solely using the Enforcers’ list ones.  I had a few figures left unbuilt, but limited arm/weapon options.  One easy fix was to go back to one of the grenade launcher-armed figures, prise the grenade launcher front end off and replace it with the webber front end that was an option in the original Artel set.

Less easy was adding a plasma gunner, which would require converting as Artel didn’t do one.  I went through several iterations of plamsa gun, but third time was a charm when I spliced a GW plasma pistol with an Artel bolter, which gave me a nicely proportioned weapon that was clearly a ‘classic’ plasma gun.  As a backup for the Scarce plasma gun, I gave her a Lasgun slung over her back, using a Hasslefree P90 with the silencer shaped into the classic las-muzzle shape (The P-90L is an established Lasgun pattern in my particular corner of the grimdark future) and a wine foil strap.

Left is my first attempt, which looked okay in isolation, but was comically oversized in comparison to the Sanctioner.  The middle was take 2, which worked (and could double as either a plasma gun or cannon as required), and I was happy with it until I had the epiphany of trying the first version again, but with a plasma pistol as the basis, which ended up much more in proportion.

The final new figure is a basic shield and shock stick lady.  I’m quite torn about using the shock batons/staves – they’re really thematic for the cops, but kinda suck on a cred-for-cred basis in comparison with chainswords, or even regular swords.  (I guess I’m a martyr for fluffiness though, so will stick with the shock staves.)

Clever work on the plasma gun. And kudos for picking fluff over optimisation!
