iPad WWII campaigns?
« on: April 16, 2020, 04:48:38 PM »
Another lockdown induced thread!
Thinking of running a campaign based on certain theatres or major battles of WWII.
Battle of the Bulge, as an example.

So I thought I could use a map driven campaign based on some of the old board games perhaps?

Then turn any combat into a table top encounter with my gaming buddies.
We’ve already successfully played a game of Bolt Action via the Zoom app on our phones. So I just need some ideas for a campaign based on emails etc.

I had thought about the very old Axis and Allies board game, but it’s too broad and covers the whole conflict. I need a digital version but more focused, like Normandy for example.

Thanks

Could you try one of Michael Rinella's games? He's written a series of Second World War games for campaigns like Crete, Battleaxe and Arnhem. I'm not sure digital versions exist, but it might give you the campaign basis you seek.

[Hat tip:I got this idea from Crac de Chevaliers and copied it successfully.

There's also a Battlegroup campaign set in Normandy, Canada's Crucible, that might suit you.

Hope that helps. :-)
