I do laugh when ever I read of a knife amnesty.  I have a kitchen full of sharp knives as, I imagine, the rest of the population do.............  :o

 I am in Victoria and I had no problem buying my hot wire cutter.

 The only way I could use mine as a weapon is to hold someone down and poke an eye out with one of the prongs.

 The wire is so thin on mine that it would break on contact with a person.

 I know it is not April the 1st, so I am wondering if someone told you this so that they didn't have to order one in where they work.
