Well done!

I painted some of those myself, nice figures aren't they?

Those are great. I still need to get the mounted figures, but the dismounted Natal Mounted Police, Buffalo Border Guard and Newcastle Mounted Rifles are all tempting me as well.

Are there plans for horse holders and unmounted horses?

I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that one, Colin. For many gamers horseholders and 'empty horses', to quote David Niven's biography, are probably a luxury so not immediately economically viable to produce just yet. Of course, they could be out tomorrow! I know that 9lb guns and two different crews should be near, as I bought a set of each at Salute.

Very nicely done.   :-*

Super figures from Empress.  Probably the best Zulu war range I've ever seen.

Gun crews? Oh thank God!

It's amazing how hard it is to find British Colonial gun crews. I've got Old Glory, which are OK but... Perry's are all kneeling for the screw gun so would look silly crewing my field guns... the Falcon sculpts didn't do it for me and Foundry are a) hard to get on this side of the pond and b) rediculously priced.

Nice work David. The positioning of the trooper with the officer on the base looks good.

Thanks, Helen, and you other guys, encouragement always welcome! ;)
I have finished the Carbineers this morning and hope to post pictures of the unit ~ mounted and in dismounted skirmish order ~ tomorrow.

.....King's Troop RHA seem to manage ok  ;)  Granted they are in a ceremonial role and the guns are (I think) WW1 vintage, but I can easily believe that gunners in the field might kneel when not actually doing all the swabbing/loading in preparation for firing. If nothing else they are smaller targets that way. You're probably right though and Empress gunners in action poses are very high on my Colonial wish list  :D

These are very nice.
I think I am copying you though.
You posted the gun crew recently and then I posted them in the LPL.
Now you have posted these and I have them on my work bench. Eerie ;D

More likely to be 'Great minds think alike' if you ask me. ;)
