Tooth and Claw game... pic heavy
« on: February 11, 2009, 11:28:43 PM »
I invited some non-gamer friends to my house to play a game of Tooth and Claw. Between the simplicity of the rules, and plenty of eye candy, it turned out to be a huge mess of fun. I used tribesmen instead of Big Game Hunters. By the end of the game the board was littered with corpses. Here are a few pics of the figures and terrain. Thanks and enjoy!!

Mammoths in sight

Smilodon attacks

Nice  :)

Particularly like the teddy bear fur islands.

Also good to see those Copplestone-sculpted Foundry nekkid hairy Germans pressed into service as extra cave people.
I too hit upon this cunning scheme to bulk out my Copplestone cave clan (although they are all sitting in my lead mountain at the moment  :()
I have also picked up a few of his ex-Grenadier barbarians as extra cave people too. You just have to avoid the ones with the studded leather bits and stick to the ones with furry bits only.

Once I finish the bloody ECW, which truthfully I am now getting sick of - cave people are next!
But I'm going to finish ECW dammit. Only 20 or so cavalry left now...

Absolutely amazing! Really stunningly beautiful!

The teddy bear fur looks really good here. How exactly did you paint it? I've been experimenting with teddy bear fur and it is a pain to colour.

Full support!
Especially like the choice of colours both for the terrain (the marshes are plain awesome) and the models, very atmospheric. Damn it, that almost drives me back into the Stone Age project I've refrained from for a long time. ::)

Very nice game!

Nice figures, nice terrain.
Very inspiring!

That is the problem here in LAF. Too many inspirational projects are displayed here. Everybody wants to have something similar!

Wow, I must go dig my lead pile, to recover those Copplestone's cavemen and cavewomen ... to see them painted!
O yes and appropriate flora, and fauna and terrain and more palaeoclimatology to read!

Stupendous. What a visual feast. I really like the grass effect, and those Germans really do work as cavemen, don't they? (Especially Grimm!  lol Kidding, kidding.)

All it needs is Rae Dawn Chong.  :)

Excellent!  :-*  8)

As others have said, the marshes/islands look particularly effective.
As Mrs Overlord collects teddy bears I may be taking my life in my hands to copy your table.
It seems quite a few of us have the Copplestone cavemen in our Lead mountains. I've had them for 2 years, totally untouched.  :'(

I had the full set at BLAM last year. They were painful. I had done half of them, then left them for a year and did the rest. Only by then my painting technique had improved, and I had to force myself to do them the same way as the others which took twice as long and looked twice as bad. And don't get me started on tattoos!  >:(

This is a lovely set up though, makes me think there may be another expedition to the lost world in the offing after all.  :)

Thats a nice board but how many Teddy Bears were slaughtered to make it? Have you no pity?

Kidding! Thats a fantastic board! I love the birch trees and the color accent they bring. Would you mind spilling the beans on the method to making the fur into terrain?

And while I am bothering you, can you give us some details about the ruleset?

Great looking game. The figures and terrain look awesome. Great detail. I have a number of those figures, some are painted, all are filed but now I have to wait until it warms up so I can prime them outside. Great inspiration. Thanks for sharing. By the way, who does the rule set for this game? Thanks in advance.

Superb looking set up!!!
The only thing I may have done is gloss the water parts, but evry effective use of materials there!!!

When you say simplistic rules, how simple to learn are they as I have friends that would like to play but hate learning masses of rules abd stats.
Plus where can I get the rulebook?
