Title: 28mm railroad track?
Post by: traveller on July 23, 2009, 08:23:22 AM
I have given up the idea of acquiring a 28mm train. The cost is unfortunately prohibitive. However, for many games it would be sufficient to have a railroad track. When looking at model railways it seems as O scale track would be the best choice as it seems to be equal to 1:48, but i havenīt been able to find any on ebay. Can anyone advice a good source for this? (or other 28mm type track options? Grateful for any help!

Look for 0n30 in Ebay. Thatīs 0 scale narrow gauge railway stock that runs on H0/00 tracks which are easily and cheaply obtainable in Germany/Europe.

Ebay link (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3-X-PECO-O-GAUGE-SL-700BH-BULLHEAD-CODE-124-NICKEL-SILV_W0QQitemZ230347912780QQcmdZViewItem)

Peco make it in Europe.

You could try S gauge in US (Brigade sell it) ground scale will be compressed a bit , but then ranges are too.

You may want to look at the local drug store mega chain like Walgreens. Usually around the holidays they have really inexpensive plastic trains that are perfect for 28mm wild west games. They will be anywhere between $15-25 - I bought 2 a couple of years ago. With a little modification and paint they are perfect.
