Wow! Very nice unit. It would be really interesting to know all the components used to make the different bodies

Thanks, fellas.

Bo: well, I know that the heads came from TAG Dutch pikemen with the plumes removed ( a laborious process). I think the torsos were Empress TYW (ex-Horcata) pikemen. Some of the arms were made from scratch. I'm not sure where the legs came from. I'll aim to speak to Brian in a few days and I'll ask him whether he remembers. The swords were Empress TYW.

Bo: Brian came back to me more quickly than I expected. He says "the figures are a mix of TAG, Empress, Foundry, Perry and Horcata, and the legs are from all the above and from different periods. The legs range from medieval through to AWI. That's the reason for never throwing anything away".

Brilliant! Brian is a true artist. Thanks for the specification!

Many thanks. That's very kind. I know that I was still working at a particular firm when I started the collection, and I left there about 15 years ago, so that's how long I've been working on it.

Thank you very much, guys. There are times when I find collecting like this very frustrating. It takes so long to build up units, and it's very expensive. The good thing, however, is that you can come up with figures which aren't available commercially, and which probably aren't commercially viable.

Great collections take time, I still have a number of Brian's creations to have painted, but quality is worth the wait.
