All that is on the Flickr page but for some reason very few can find it. Just below the album title click on more or scroll down. The rules are "Mr. Lincoln's War" which are a regimental set of rules. The figures are 15mm from Friekorps 15, Heritage, Minifigs, Old Glory and Stone Mountain. The scenario is based on the scenario in Scott Mingus' Antietam Campaign scenario book. We played it over two days. I have comments for some of the photos. In album view scroll down below the photo.
The game was very bloody, lots of casualties, just as the actual battle. The major fighting took place in
the East Woods, West Woods, on Nicodemus Hill and Miller's Cornfield. The cornfield changed hands several times as in the actual battle. Both sides had artillery which covered the field. Taking it was one thing, but staying there was difficult as the artillery blew you right out of it. The Union troops were trying to out flank the Confederates. The game was pretty much a draw, again as in the actual battle.
We have played the major battles of the Antietam campaign, the three battles for South Mountain, Turners, Crampton and Fox's Gaps. They can be found here
